I'm glad to see that your style of seat belts passed, as I have the same ones for my car.
( And was a little worried the "airplane" style buckle might have been an issue. )
Did you have any issues with the aim of the headlights?
Still not re tested as every time the garage has a spare slot its been peeing it down. not been kicking back though. In reality some of the paintwork on the car was "6 foot" quality. A lot of wet sanding with 1500 then 2000 has helped massively and overall i think its now a 4 "foot" car. With my limited painting skills its never going to be museum quality and in fact i dont want a mirror finish as i think it would look unrealistic.
One spot that was bugging me though was that for some reason i had some annoying micro blisters on the sides where the doors would be on a "normal" car. its been annoying me for ages and to be honest most people that have looked at the car haven't spotted them until i pointed them out.
2 choices really, repaint the sides the original colour which scares the living daylights out of me as i don't have enough of the original paint and colour matching it could be a nightmare. or do something a bit radical.......
The other side has just been done so ill hopefully be able to drive it outside tomorrow for some better shots.
Once the paint has had a couple of days to go off properly I'm going to hand stripe a navy blue dividing line in coach enamel along the top and around the curve at the rear. this will hide the "edge" between the 2 colours and tie in the navy blue leather interior and the navy blue leather cockpit edging.
I like it, what about a mesh front grill in the cream colour, would look excellent if the bonnet support V behind was in black and could be seen through, & possibly the headlight surrounds.
I always like the front grills with logos or stripes or race number painted on, seems to give a used racer period look. You could try a similar colour racing roundel off centre on the back deck between the humps then paint it on if you like it. Ed
Cheers all, I'm going to redo the front grill surround in cream rather than silver to add a little more cream. The V support will indeed be redone in black so it disappears and have just order the rubber trim to go round the edge of the stainless mesh for the front grill.
Thanks Jones.
Had to do the brakes on the Asbo today as it needs an MOT so no Ribbling for me:-(
If the weather allows tomorrow i will mostly be spending it outside wearing a bin bag polishing with G3 then possibly G10. Oh joy!
Paul,
just had a look and your right so after polishing i will paint the bottom of the lip that joins the body to my Ali extension plates black.
Towed.
Funnily enough the Austin Healey colour scheme was my first choice but the thought of spraying metallic base coat and clear in "The Man Cave" terrified me so i whimped out :-(
Hi Mac, I just looked again at the pictures and it looks better each time, I must apologies for the tone of my previous post as I thought the post that reads "does it need more cream" was written by yourself, that's why I made my suggestions in the manner that I did. I too was drawn to the cill lip. Can't wait to see it polished and pin striped. Ed.

Mac
Mac i think mr.T. means the two-tone going towards the back of the car including the rear wing, not the colour.........and i must say he has a point.
A small orange pinstripe will be the finishing touch
No polishing today, need to do it outside and the weather couldn't make its mind up. At 16:00 i called my MOT man 4 miles down the road as it had actually stopped raining for 10 minutes, if i could get there in 10 minutes he could squeeze me in so........
