JoeB's Z300S Build

11 Jan 2018, 10:09pm
It's a Range Rover colour called Carpathian grey

It was just a quick picture to give an idea of what it will look like when it's finished!

Hi joe, awesome colour choice, you are really close to how I have seen mine being finished so really looking forward to see plenty of photos of this! Whilst here I just want to say how impressed I have been with your build, in time, quality and touches/thoughts. You have given me and no doubt others plenty to consider and inspiration during our builds.
Luv ya work!

Great colour choice, I know you have a black interior but one of my favourite colour combinations is gunmetal with a blood red interior. Jaguar used to offer this combo in the 60's and it always looked stunning.
The chrome bonnet trims are going to look stunning against the dark grey.
Exhaust really suits the car, good choice, can't wait to see the rear lights fitted.

+4 on the great colour choice.

I look forward to seeing this completed.

Good luck, Paul. :)

Yes loving that dark grey - I am turn between a classic colour (even a flat one) or my fa e colour which would be very individual to me only (purple)

Only time and numerous arguments will tell

Must be time for an update.
6 Feb 2018, 11:56pm
It's that time again! It's time for another update!

Here is how the car is currently looking!

It won't be long now before the car is completed! The final things that need doing is the boot lid installing on the car, the number plate lights need fixing in and then the whole car needs polishing for the final time before it's ready to come home.

Nice.

Wow! That looks fantastic. The colour and paint finish really shows off the body curves.

+ 1 on the praise fella. That is a great colour and finish and unless i get swayed by any others I think Carpathian Grey may be the final colour of my 275Kit. Great to see you will be on the road for the loooong summer you guys need over there!

Just thought I'd put an update up as it's been a while, I've had the car on the road over the last few days and it's been great!! definitely worth all the effort!

Very nice Joe, well played! I covet that day in the future! Great colour.....

Evening all!

Just an update of what else I've done to the car over the last few months.
The car now has a hard top so its a little bit quieter for when the weather isn't as good. The car is now supercharged and going in for a remap on Wednesday next week. Hopefully there should be some serious gains on power once the remap has been done.

The interior is almost there now and just needs the dashboard wrapping and the interior will be completed. Then I just need to build a boot interior and the car should be not far from finished!

Great look g car
MTell us more about the supercharger please

What engine are you runnng was it diy or a company kit?
15 Aug 2018, 4:00pm
The engine I have is the 2.8 and I've used a M62 supercharger from a Mercedes . The setup is completely bespoke and has taken a while to setup in the car but it's almost complete and just needs a remap now to fully utilize the boost pressure. A lot of parts in the engine bay had to be relocated to accommodate for the supercharger and brackets but it all just about fits.

Unfortunately the air intake is now at the back of the engine bay however, due to the bonnet scoop/bulge on the z300s I will make something for under the vent to use this as a cold air feed for the intake!

Then just a photo with the new roof!

Thanks for the reply does look a squeeze

Hardtop looks good
15 Aug 2018, 4:22pm
Well done! Good luck with the re-map.
15 Aug 2018, 4:52pm
It certainly was a squeeze! not much room left now!

Hopefully the remap goes well and I can see how much the charger has effected the performance.

I'm sure you will be well pleased!

Just viewed the pics on my computer screen, wow, great job. I am now wondering if that colour would be better than the green for my Z3gato, it certainly looks the biz. (Especially as I have the same wheels)

A great looking car - can I ask...... what diameter are the rear lights?
16 Aug 2018, 11:37pm
The rear lights are 75mm diameter led clusters. They’re meant for a caterham I believe.

I thought I'd put up a little update of the car progress as its been a while!
The interior is coming together now and won't be long before it's completed.

I have wrapped the dashboard in leather and that is waiting to go back into the car. The fuel gauge and temp gauge were made from a combination of the original instrument cluster and some aftermarket VDO gauges.

I have finished off the speedo and rev counter and they are both are waiting to go back in.

I have also made a new switch panel that will fit into the bezel that houses the hand brake switch. This will all fit in the new centre console once I have finished wrapping it.

The next task will be to make some new heater controls that fit in with the new console.

Some amazing work on the interior, it is going to be as stunning as the rest of the car when finished :D

How is the car after the remap to suit the supercharger?

P.S. If you happen to have any more exterior pictures don't be shy to share :D
