More tomorrow

Visually not much progress, but things are moving on.

Big weekend planned, get the front end on and wired up.
What could possibly go wrong?

Busy few days, but it's moved on

Rapid building! Nearly ready for summer. Well done guys.
Been enjoying the hell out of driving mine the last few days. The confused look on peoples faces, is priceless ;)

First show in four weeks, so that's the target.

RUST, FECKIN RUST

We've found some, front chassis rail, was hidden from view till we removed some parts. Going to slow down the build a bit.
Repair panels are ordered and will be fixed.

Bugger

That is a shame, as it looks to be coming together nicely. Better to deal with it now though, rather than after you get it painted and think you are all set for fun only.

I read somewhere that the mk2 had added a double skinned chassis rail at the front due to new legislation. And that this becomes a water trap

Mine had holes big enough to fit your fist in, how it got through an MOT I have no idea although they are well hidden. As Barber says, better to get it fixed now and slap on as much underseal as you can manage.

At last, he has finally started to do some work on 'his' car.

This is crazy. This picture was sent to me from someone I work with a few weeks ago. Small world

Yep your car was being discussed on facebook :)

Haha I'm wondering how you came across the photo

It's not gone any further, time has been spent driving it and loving driving it! I think every spare second I have I'm sat behind the wheel.
There are a few things that will be getting done next month but just general maintenance.

I also had a mishap yesterday at a petrol station, the pump pipe had a hole in it and sprayed over my car, the petrol took the paint off so I'm waiting to hear from the owner as they said they will book it in with a paint sprayer they know. Although when they find out the paint isn't done professionally I feel that may fall through :(

Brilliant that you are enjoying it so much. That is mostly what it is about, though some prefer the build phase.
