Some people who build their own cars take a lot longer than that.

The only better way I can think of is in a Lotus Seven S2 with a 1500 Cosworth engine.

Just went out for a drive and got waved to by a chap driving a 1950's drophead Bentley. If he new he'd just waved at a 1999 Z3 he'd be chucked out of the Owners Club, made me and my partner laugh anyway

Treated the car to a set of Falkens as two of the tyres on the car were cheap and nasty Chinese tyres and the other two although a good brand were old and starting to degrade. Also fitted 50mm spacers on the rear and put the 30mm spacers that were on the rear to the front, wheels now sit in the arches just right, although lowering the suspension by 30mm may make it look even better.
Rear of car rubbed down and primed but still a few pin prick holes and other marks to take care of, don't think it'll be sprayed anytime soon. Still deciding on the colour but pretty sure it'll be BMC Smoke grey, oddly enough not to far off the colour of the primer

Took the car out to a local car meet this morning, pouring with rain though so not many cars. Car all one colour now albeit primer and the rain made it look like a proper finish The Ford Pop in the background was interesting, it's actually a VW Beetle chassis and engine with he Ford Pop body.
Got the light covers Chris, just got to figure out a neat way of attaching them, suggestions welcome anyone, trying to avoid 90 degree brackets.

The front grill looks well, sort of has an aston martin feel to it. Do you have a final color choice yet?

I understand the reluctance of the L shaped brackets but you could always put self adhesive chrome strip around the edge of the headlamps covers so the brackets are not visible

Danny- I agree the front does look a bit Aston, the badge helps on that score. Not decided on final colour, but quite like 'smoke grey' as used on Morris Minors, has a blue tinge to it. I think using a colour not really associated with a particular sports car helps with the confusion.

Roadster-Cheers for that, not to sure if I could get a wide enough strip, well one that goes round bends anyway. Thought about getting some thin ally sheet and cutting shaped strips, not to sure how accurate I would be though.

It looks good in gloss "rainy day" grey, something a little different.

Have a look at a picture of an original Maserati 300s for headlight cover fixings, I'm sure a man of your skills could make some nice inset tabs fittings.
