somewhat less when 'pressing on'

About 5mpg at a guess.

Probably but you can't 'press on' for very long on public roads so it isn't too bad

right here goes. de tomaso panterra, wedge shape cars ive got masserati bora, ferrari 280, magnum pi style ferrari wedge shaped and yes i know these cars are mid engined but why not use a mx5/z3 as the windscreen and side doors for them works quite well. plus could adapt a hardtop to targa top. if panels are put behind the seats. some may find it offensive that ive suggested using front engine rear drive car but when on a budget and need for multi purpose it seems logical

eg aerodynamics of sports car with a boot for the weekend away trip or hols in a beach villa with the mrs. cant really refer to them as gt cars as mid engine usually means all out race car.

I like that, ultra retro!
21 Apr 2014, 11:10am
How about a VW Beetle based VintageStyle Bugatti Veyron !!!

21 Apr 2014, 12:33pm
I like that, is it for real or just a photoshopped concept?
21 Apr 2014, 1:12pm
I'm not sure if its real or not but it looks awsome.
I bet Chris could build one if he wanted.

It's a very good photoshop. I like most wheeled things, but not generally VW's.

Nice to see they've kept the chrome bumper on. Not sure what the Bugatti grills needed for but nice twist. Classic style ,modern aerodynamics. Low and wide

Having just come back from a week long trip around Germany visiting more car museums than I care to mention I have fallen in love with this:

Wonder if Chris fancies branching out into kits to fit a Beetle chassis?

I would like Chris to build me a robot that could do all the shitty fiddly jobs on my build. Come to think of it that would be most of it!

Mmmmmmmm perhaps not.............

Martin and Walker offer the Technic 904 GTS replica/homage/lookalikey/whatever in the uk -

Not cheap though...

Don't laugh. A 5 door lotus exige tribute. Love the flowing design and thin vertical lights and wide arches. I've been looking at it for a while . The Mrs couldn't moan then as it has five doors which would have poppers put in the rear doors so no door handles. Raised door panels. 16+17inch alloys lowered to match the exige. Only difference is i would have a ford fiesta grill l

Id have four sports seats. And a stripped out interior just four bucket seats . Steering wheel and dials.

I would like Chris to build himself a Birthday cake .

Happy Birthday you old tw@t !

How about a lotus elan mk1 tribute with small pop up lights

Thanks Mr Towed found that and another company in the US. They look stunning but are way out of my price range. I suppose by hard top MX250C looks a bit like this, albeit that the engine is in the wrong end.

I wonder if the Porsche could be made to fit on this

The prices seem to be dropping below £6K and they should handle ok

I wonder if that porsche could be fitted to a boxster ?

What I'd really love is a jaguar XJ13 - maybe that could be fitted to a boxster with the mid engine layout?

I just purchased a complete set of molds for this body. Looks like it will be a fun winter if my health holds out. 2 heart attacks this year. :(

That's nice, where do you get a windscreen from, though?
