Must say it looks fantastic. Reminds me a bit of the Evanta AM recreation.

As for the grill, if AM did say something you could use the new Ford Fiesta or Mondeo grill, or even a custom Nissan 350 (AM style grill) by DamD not to mention others.

Chris , thankyou for taking the time to entertayn me yesterday. have to say mate some of the shapes you are createing are just awesome buddy boy. this Alternative biuld is really looking great. it is incredable that the same doner car can create two different looking resultts . I love it.

Could it be worth using the Fiesta Grille to make the mould? Looks as though it could do the job well, avoid any wrangle with AM? and make for a nice finish and easy-fit grille ---- Job done! Like the way things are going - I admire how quickly and artistically you can do these builds.

Cross that bridge when you come to it i say, the grille looks too good to be worrying about what might happen if someone might say something.

If this looks close enough when its finished, i'd like to fit one over the top of a vitesse, looking good thus far though.

good luck with that sweetcheeks. the kit is designed to glu onto a mx5 not sure how you is gonna make it fit a vitese chassis.

Yeah, it's not as if a big name manufacturer, like Bentley for example, would bother threatening legal action against a small independent kit manufacturer for breach of copyright...

I think Aston have let too many other people rip off the grille design to have much of a case now.

Well all you'd need to do was make up the rest of the roof that would otherwise have been part of the MX5 and then attach it to the vitesse body tub in the same way that the A352 or Sammio spyder fit.

One of the nicest things is that you dont need to go "max power" the age style of the car suits a more relaxed drive or GT style fun. Add that to a car of sensible vintage (ie the correct electrics rather than needing a laptop to do anything) and to my mind this fits all the requests just too nicely.
Its lovely to watch it coming to fruition so fast and with such style.
By the way WCA, I've enjyed reading your and other peoples 'stories' on the forum.

not to mention bmw with the mini who's new mini countryman grill and bonnet line and side vents look alot like the am styling. i think ford are the worst looking very closely at grills and headlights

Yes you are right. Oh and a load bearing a pilar ,sill panels,b pillar strong enough to take a latch and accept a stock mx5 door, internal framework to suport the entyre body wwere the mazda would have done etc. oh and correct the 2 inch wheelbase differinse peace of cake my lovely. I think I would be tempted to bolt and bond it to an mx5 as god intended.

Well theres no need to get arsey about it.

That post took me less than 20 seconds to throw together. Of course there's going to be a lot of work involved, but a Vitesse tub teamed with fibreglass doors and a bit of internal framework and its not going to be the hardest undertaking in history. Wheelbase is not hard to alter either, chris has demonstrated that numerous times.

If it can be done with the A352, Sammio Spyder, and the Microplas Mistral, theres absolutely no reason why it couldnt be done with this. Its all about personal preference, not all of us want an mx5, i certainly don't.

Quick point of note - Chris is not God

Chris intended it to be on an MX 5 because that is what he had lying about. He made the A352 fit a Spitfire and then a BMW.

I am sure anyone can make anything fit ant=y car they want.

As someone with a foot in both the MX5 and Triumph camps I can see the appeal of either. The feel and character of a Vitesse-based machine would be terrific!

I know it prob goes against all that. Is period but im thinking of going concept on my kit after Chris has made a mold. Using alternative headlight and taillights. And a spoiler on the back if can get made in clear acrylic depending on what's available at the time. So as not to break up the lines of the
kit and keep the tail down for better grip.

How fast are you thinking of going?
You have to be going seriously fast (say twice legal limit) to get anything meaningful - and huge as well (think old can-am racers).
Those 'spoilers' on XR3's were only for appearance! or putting the picnic on at the destination
