Heated seats in a couple of my cars - lovely for the ladies at certain times apparently. They won't keep you warm though, other than your backside.
My Merc has an Air Scarf thing that just blows hot air out behind your neck. Very effective because the warm air in released close to your body and seems to flow around you rather than being blown away. Remember when you are moving the air swirls in strange directions.
In my BMW Z3 all the air blows forward from between the seats leaving you with a cold face and shoulder.
In my TVR it used to creep around the back of the side windows and the forward along the inside of the window before swirling just in front of your face. When raining you could see little water spouts spinning right in front of your eyes and if you slowed down they lost speed and exploded showering you and almost leaving you blind. That was with the roof up!

I was wavering as it occurred to me i would be heating the air not the occupants i like your idea much more and may have to steal it

That's what I have under the passenger side bulkhead. It works fine at a standstill, but I'll have to wait until I'm on the road next week (!!!)before I know how efficient it is at actually warming up the occupants.
If you don't thermal wrap it the exhaust will heat up the cockpit anyway. A sliding metal shutter between the exhaust and the floor could make the system adjustable...
When I get home I am getting the chassis shot blasted, then going to weld on the new extension arms.
But, I was wanting to cut them to size before powder coating, how does this affect or does this affect the VOSA/DVLA check?
A lot would depend on the inspector. Going by the letter of the rules they should be left full length so he can ascertain that the chassis is unmodified but in reality, how would he know unless he knows Triumph chassis extremely well. It's a gamble.
