Ha, have looked all sorts, best fun was the local scrap yard, but the Poundland stuff is good, I used MG steel mesh on the front three vents, its painted but will rust one day and the stanless on the round vents was £12 and it is heavy. Looks good but so does the plastic.
Bought it on Ebay from duncanjoes he has others at £25 +£1.99 p&p, eg. LIG XXXX, ERZ XXXX and CXZ XXXX, there is a contact number so there may be other cheap ones, they also have more expensive ones, but I just wanted a cheap dateless plate, both my other cars have cherished plates bought direct from the DVLA years ago, even they have gone up in value.
Mooched around my local scrap yard today looking for cheap micra bonnet grills no luck, thinking about the boot spring situation found a couple of nice long gas struts cost me a fiver, have one fitted now mated to an old Pug 405 door hinge, boot now opens at a pull of the leaver, (did not want to spoil the lines with a catch). [url]www.mx5parts.co,uk[/url] want nerly £60 for this, do not waste your money, there are better things to spend it on.
The gas struts are off a Hyundai Coupe and are 88mm extended and 52 mm closed. I am keeping the original hinges and the top of strut is bolted to one of them, I had the 405 hinges and bits to fit in the garage, but there are lots of options, I have a spare an its a very quick fit, if anyone is interested.

Black day everything that is metal and kept is covered in black goo, after a wire brushing and de rust treatment.
