I was planning to do more of the conversion myself at one time, but the thought of standing around for hours in the rain scratching my head trying to figure out what I had done wrong and trying to figure out a fix while catching pneumonia just put me off, so have left it to the experts.
I'm sure there'll be lots left for me to f**k up when it gets here.
I read elsewhere this is some way off being legalised , but worrying all the same, what would the impact be on us, we lose historic status?
Wonder if it would be retrospective or just wipe us out....
Any impact on Sammio Future et all rebuilds...
The UK actually has a reputation of 'gold plating' EU legislation making quite sensible rules into rigid stupidity.
Hmm, I would tend to disagree with that in respect of vehicle regulations. At the moment we have a great deal of freedom to build and modify motor vehicles.
I can't see any UK Government (so long as we don't vote the Green party in) adopting that particular Draconian bit of EU legislation as it stands. Tens of thousands of voters own or aspire to owning modified cars and it would instantly kill thousands of businesses that modify cars or supply the industry, including some high profile companies that sell very expensive armoured limousines to MP's.
Bear in mind that, the way it's written, the Armageddon thing would prohibit you from even fitting a different wheel and tyre combination or spraying your vehicle another colour (thereby altering its appearance) virtually every second hand BMW and Corsa would have to be scrapped.
There's also the matter of the UK having a long history of not applying new legislation retrospectively to existing vehicles - no seatbelts needed in pre '65 cars, only one brake light needed on pre '71 cars etc.
So, scary though it is, I can't see our Government buying into something that's going to adversely affect the UK economy or disaffect tens of thousands of voters. I hope...
No doubt in my mind that if, for political reasons, a UK government wished to alter the regulations negatively towards the 'modified market' it would do so without the slightest hesitancy.
Similar arguments in respect of the 'Fox Hunting' bill were put forward re millions in lost revenue, job losses, rights of the individual etc..these were seemingly ignored..

I'll give it a refurb then and keep it at the ready in the porch!!!!!
I bought an old pitchfork off ebay just over a year ago. It was sold to me as being virtually angry mob ready, just needing a fresh coat of cuprinol on the handle.
Once I got it though, I decided to sand blast the metal parts and strip all the layers of old paint off the wooden handle. I'm glad I did, as I foud structural corrosion in the tines and the handle was full of wood filler under the paint. It was so weak that it could have failed at any time with catastrophic results - the head could drop off leaving me the only villager in the mob armed with just a fork 'andle.
I started welding up the tines and tried to fix the handle, but it's taking much longer than I expected and I've had to hide the receipts for new parts from various pitchfork specialist parts suppliers from my wife in case she realises how much I'm spending.
My original deadline to have a fully functional pitchfork was January this year. Then April. Now it's the end of September. Until then, if we march on parliament I'll have to take my brand new Massey Fergusson hay bailer instead. Oh, the shame

You could have saved time and money selling it on at an inflated price to Micha or one of his German mates. He could have moaned about all the bodges you uncovered then. LOL

For your info....body is on , mostly bulkheaded out and fitted , bonnet is on and hinging , little tweaking to do , but getting there....will add pics Monday
