Building lambo countach rep

Couple of weeks then interior :)

Off to collect my glass tomorrow, hope it fits!! Else I'm fubar!!!

Had to pay for tooling to do the rear quarters as well

Out of interest where did you get it made and are the rear quarters curved?

I ask as one of mine has a crack across the corner. It's nothing serious and i could live with, but if i can get a replacement...... :)

Hi Dave,

Got the frames from Goliath99, from the other site. The glass is from Pilkington Automotive in Kent.

DC had to make the frame slightly smaller as wouldn't fit but all good now.

Glass fits with a bit of fiddling. Phew.

Saw the other countach being done ( Red ) with Gold wheels, they look sooooo nice!!! Going to stick with white though :)

Interior is coming along now so hopefully once its painted, its full steam ahead with the fit out and then get them damn IVA forms done.

Sorry Gary, no further pics as of yet.

I am awaiting a call for me to go back up to check the car before it goes to paint, hoping its all back together so can check the gaps etc.

Will get loads then :)

How's the project going Steve , any advancement ?

After a few frustrating weeks I have been told it will be ready for me to see it in primer on Wednesday. Then it's paint but that will a few weeks yet as another countach is being painted week after next. There have been a few bad weather weeks though which has delayed things.

How's yours coming along?

All on hold at the moment( work is looking iffy ), ordered some light covers from the states , but not arrived yet. That's about it

Those are impressively large rads you've got there matey! Fingers crossed that you're all corrected and painted soon!

Thanks Dave. All the better to keep the Chevy cool lol. They are sitting high, don't think they are much bigger than yours tbh.

Gettering there, these pics don't do the colour justice at all, but wanted to see some with it on :) :-

Looking lovely and clean, certainly a summer colour...
14 May 2013, 6:07pm
Thanks Guys.

I have jumped the queue a bit so i need to be a bit quiet about showing the pics ;)

It will be ready for me to look at week Friday, then off for interior.

Dave, I saw your post on another thread re tyre pressure, what do you have yours set to?

I have a brand new set of 345 35 15 asym tyres and the ones on the alloys are not asym so going to swap them over.

Need to work out ICE now, got the head, side speakers and fronts. Need to source an amp and a sub, any thoughts?

Just got back from the paint shop, in the process of getting it back together and then off for interior, happy days :)

Car is now in for interior and finishing :)

So close yet so far. Aim to be on the road before the two year anniversary of its purchase :)
15 Jun 2013, 3:07am
So, now that the car is in the final stages, I thought I would sort out my rear reflectors.

I think the two panels on the back of the lambo are more for aesthetics rather than function, but paying over £200 each for OEM is a no no!!! But trying to find the same type of sheet to cut them out is like looking for Hens Teeth!!

But I have a genius wife and she has suggested using clear with a reflective sheet underneath, love her :)

So, why do I need to do this since I had a perfectly good pair already you may ask (or not!)? Well, during its visit for paint, undue car and attention lead to this :-

Not happy :icon_frown:

So bought some of this :-

Used the original reflectors as templates and this to cut them out:-

I now have new ones :-

But there non-reflective, so ordered these to stick behind the red acrylic :-

Fingers crossed, it will give a similar effect :icon_cool:

Well done wife... Maybe she should join the forum! The lenses, do you have to stick them in place?
15 Jun 2013, 12:50pm
I won't stick them on, it will be a snug fit, also the lenses will still on top of this, screwed in from inside the boot. I know this isn't ala original but will still do the job :)

Seen some more pics of the car today, more detailing coming along :)

Looks stunning, great panel fit as well with tight, even panel gaps. Great work :whoo:
