So i got a couple of things done today, once the rain had stopped. And stripped the brake calipers down as well.

I was just looking for a picture of a Vitesse wheel with trim and came across these VW Polo wheels that supposedly fit...

I would double check that as I think the PCD is different on VW.

I still seem to be busy doing nothing... just faffing around instead of cracking on, like a lot of you! never mind, i will be happy with a rolling chassis this year.
So i have been cleaning some parts so i can shotblast and powdercoat, and start to use up those many boxes of new parts. Also bought a valve spring compressor to start stripping down the engine (head). How does a leaf from the spring, break? And i have cut lots of little plates to patch the rear outriggers.

Dashboard clocks, question. The chrome rim, does it twist off/ or do i lift the tabs up?

Mine twisted until the tabs lined up with slots and popped off.

Oh and if you need a standard rear spring I have one from my Herald but I dont know what it would cost to send?

or just carefully prise up the tabs so you ease the bezel off. They stick with age, and also the glass can be a bugger to get off if they are stuck - patience and a stanley knife blade to ease around the glass works for me!

Thanks for all your advice. I will try and clean bezels, i think its just rubber that has turned to liquid? I may just leave the leaf out and be a bit lower, and i have already bought a complete set of outriggers, but thanks for the offer.

Afraid not, work's getting in the way at the moment. Progress should be resumed after the weekend.

That Lucra is very pretty, and there are certainly a few ideas that can be re-used on a Sammio

Based on recent observations from Stoneleigh I'll duck my head after saying this, but i even like the amount of dials and switches they have!

Oh well, we're nearly there once again... it does come round, quickly. This weekend will be Allotment, painting and car.

Thanks Andy, i will be copying the dash to a certain extent... also a boot lid with those catches.

Sticking with my current keeping-things-simple theme, i especially like the block of wood as a foot mat so that the driver can reach the high up pedals!

Arrgh yes... also the P155 pot disguised as an oil can!
