I like the wrap around windscreen as well. I plan to have functioning doors on the kits I supply. This will allow the use of side screens. Here is one more picture. Gary's friend Chris has been doing these for me. We are done with the 3 views. Now Chris is doing the different views in several colors. Silver, BRG, Black, Yellow, Dark blue, red of course, Cordite blue, and Deep red.

I really like the look of that in burgundy! Do you have any pics of the car in silver?

I had Chris do Silver and British Racing Green as well. I didn't think that they were quite right. I thought the green was a little to yellow and the silver more grey. (You guys would know more about the Green. Am I right?) Chris is making some corrections. Once I get them I will post them. In the mean time here is what He sent.

I am a visual person. I need to see things. i thought that having the car in different colors would be helpful. He is doing the other 2 views for me in all of the colors as well. Have fun dreaming.

By the way. I think the car looks great. I don't usually like yellow. But, I have to say I like the Yellow picture. Actually I want one of each!

Can you get him to put the wheels from this picture on or is that difficult?



I also think this photo and the one above it in the original posting show off the car better.

Still, love what he has done with the colours and agree about the green and grey needing tweaking. The grey looks too close to undercoat.

Ok, Here is a question for everyone. I am going to be using 1 of the pictures as the landing page for my website and for an advertisement in Kit Car Builder Magazine. (This is until I get my car built) The first question is which view to use. The side, 3/4 front, or rear. The second question is which color to use?

I have my own ideas about this. But, you are my focus group. Input is appreciated.

3/4 front... We do the advertising for VW

The one on page 3 (that will mean something else to us in the UK) 3/4 front cordite blue with the wires. I am not into light colours however this was different enough to sway me, plus it was a traditional colour for frogeyes, MGA's, TR4 etc fo the 50's/60's

But the dilemma is that they look good

Front 3/4 for the cover shot definitely.the side shots don't do the curves justice and the rear 3/4 doesn't show the cars face although it would be a good image for the last page. The front of the car on the welcome page and the back of the car on the exit page.

Colour is more personal. I would go for the dark blue just above the yellow.it its a good deep colour which shows off the shape nicely. Red is to obvious and it will be just another red roadster. Yellow looks good but is a little to different, the car can carry it off but you don't want to challenge peoples ideas too much on the welcome page. Black, white and silver are too plain. Green is hard to get right in pictures.

Just my thoughts.

I agree with the 3/4 view as that shows the design off best, imho.
As far as colour goes, its a shame you can't have it as a plug in with the colour blocks across the bottom so that people can choose their own!
I know that Jag do that, but then again I expect that their marketing budget may but a bit bigger than yours :-)

3/4 View does it for me, and for some reason the yellow is the one that looks great, It looks fresh and a summer driver. Pops

3/4 FRONT for me as well ....I agree that its the best angle.
If you can incorporate the other angles as well , that would be cool...

Colour ? ( Color ? ) I am a sucker for red I'm afraid , but I like the turquoisey blue , and the pale blue , mid blue looks cool , green is ok , grey........

I think red is the colour for an advert , everyone likes red sports cars ....Us guys like racing greens etc. but its the ladies that like red ....and they are the ones in control usually !!

Have you guys missed me? It' been a day since i posted! LOL.

I've been in the shop working on the frame for the Miata cradles. Chris just sent me these pictures. He has done a fantastic job. I think the car is unbelievably beautiful. Now, if I can build it to look this good.

I thought that you might like to see these. They are the last Photo shop pictures. From now on the pics will be of the build.

He has got the grey and green a lot better. Still reckon wire wheels though..

I can't decide either! I don't usually like yellow but on this car it looks good. And, I love the Burgundy too. I want one in every color. I love the looks.

Mad Mark, I like flames. Here is one of my other cars that I had flamed.

A quick update: I was notified that the crate with my Sammio body was cleared by customs today. My share of the inspection fee was $99 plus a small handling fee. Lucky that it wasn't more. The freight company tells me to expect delivery to my door in 14 days. Man, This is worse than being 4 years old waiting for Santa.

I have contacted Gary's web guru to set up my website for US sales. I will be able to post details and pictures of the process to develop the Sammio into a Miata based kit.

Now I have to decide on a name for my business and the name for the Miata based Sammio. I want to honor Gary and his son by keeping Sammio for the car. The obvious choice is Sammio MX5 Spyder. But, I don't know if there would be a problem using MX5 in the name. Maybe MX56? The car represents the 50's, I was born in 1956, I will be 56 this year.
