As for the unpleasantness over on the Tribute pages, sorry if I spoiled your build thread in any way, I didn't mean to get involved in a slag-off with a pro painter. I was just trying to offer an alternative view to the 'you must spend five grand to have your car professionally sprayed or it'll look crap' statement.
Funnily enough, the only people I see complaining about their paint failing over in Tribute world have paid a pro to paint their car for them. Strange that, when you think how much work and skill goes into a professional job.

I think your imagination is taking over again, I never said you HAVE to spend 5k for a professional job or it will look crap, my words were "A decent job would cost around 5k"
You didn't spend that and you got the results that you got, others on here have pointed out that you get what you pay for on more than one occasion.
I am sorry that you and Mr Scottie have really taken offence at my comments, Scotties car looks ok in the pictures, it is clear he had a better compressor than you and a better gun.
I have no idea what materials he used, nor do i care, it does how ever show that their are two sorts of DIY job, your finished result, and his finished result.
Yes Andys car has cracked, that's unfortunate in the same way that the Nubodi one cracked, however you can't lay the blame at the guys who put the paint on, That part of the car was originally part of the whole roof structure and Chris ended up modifying it.
You can keep sniping away at me all you want, it just reinforces mine and other peoples view of you.
Let's be honest here you didn't really offer an alternative view on having your car painted, you started slagging off professional painters saying things like "we spread myths to keep the gravy train flowing that you need to spend thousands on paint"
I have no problem at all with any body wanting to paint their car them self, in fact i admire it and wish them well, and fair play for having a go etc etc.
Now i am sure your buddies will be along to have another dig or pop at me, as i said on the other thread I am more than happy to let this drop, but when you say that I have said some thing that I did not then I feel I have the right to reply.
Now the only thing left to say is did you use the Moulinex 3000 to mix the paint ? or was it the house wife's favorite the good old Kenwood Chef ?
