Anyone having problems making a reply on the threads at the moment ??
Yes, but the good news is that all the answers to the four random questions appear as a drop down list for me.
( Although I did have to look up the Dutton model names, )

I do remember being in a bit of a rush when I realised I'd finished my "To Do" list, made an MOT appointment and was then driving the car on the road for the first time!
(After over four years building the car. )
I must confess, I was a complete nervous wreck by the time I'd done the four odd miles to the MOT place.
( As I was hearing every noise possible and half expecting something to fall off. )

Thanks Paul. Hope I don’t feel the same. The car has moved about 300 yards in three months
So car passed its MOT Monday 4th June so now road legal.
All that remains is to:
Fit new stainless cat-back exhaust.
Fit new steering wheel as the Z3 wheel is terrible.
Clean interior
Get heater to stop being on hot all the time
Boot prop as mine is a chunk of wood.
drive it !

Oh and Paul I was nervous as heck but all good now

Was there any mention of the new mot regulations that are now in place ? Did they look at any areas that you wouldn't have expected ?
I've had a couple of cars in for the new MOT, not kits. The MOT tester felt he could be a little more lenient as the onus on a minor fault was with the car owner to fix. As he said, if the owner doesn't fix it then it will be him that gets fined not the MOT tester.

There didn’t seem to be. I was quietly confident as I had replaced brakes and suspension in the prep work. I was most concerned about emissions truth be told. But he got it hot enough to pass no problem.
A lot still depends upon the tester I guess. I assume have the view that if it passes that’s great.
Hopefully the ones that like the new failure mechanisms are the ones to avoid. If you know which ones they are
I took my daily drive in the week before to a different tester. I knew one tyre was on the verge so ordered new ones to be fitted there. They failed it on the tyres then retested after they fit them .... I would have done it the other way around but hey what do I know,
