They are 15" MWS wheels with 225/ 70 x 15 tyres. Although Ive had them balanced (twice) there is still a slight judder at 40-45 MPH. I guess it must be the difference on the PCD of Bmw 5 x 120 to Jaguar 5 x 120.7. They do look the part though. I bought the wheels on ebay for £200 a year ago as Chris had one of my Daytonas in to take a mold from but never got there. The secondhand price has trebled now of these wheels as so many people are after them. I am looking for 3 separate customers presently.
Its rare for a convertible to look good with the roof up but this model is not bad. The wifes Z300s not so good. There are some better pictures of the car with the roof up on our website now courtesy of Kitcar magazine.
Yes, basically we wanted to remove the blinkers of people interested in building a Kobra to show them other possibilities. By consideration of colour, chrome wire wheels, seats, AC Ace over-riders and lights a more classic sportscar effect can be achieved. If any of you saw the Klassic on the stand at Stoneleigh, hopefully you will agree it worked. We could have sold this car ten times over. It unfortunately went to a lovely man in Portugal for £10,000. This shows if they are built well they can return a reasonable price.
We have a burgundy Klassic coming out of paint today. If anyone wants to see it we shall have it for about a week for fitting up before it goes to its new owner.

Richard the judder will be due to the centre bore of the wheel 73.9 vs bmw 72.6 spigot rings normally are available but if not might be easy enough to address
Yes I have already asked my local engineering company to quote me on a set of 4 rings. I may just live with it though as its only slight. Neither of the two road testers from the magazines mentioned it.
Shouldn't cost more than £20 for a set of 4 custom spigot rings. Google it & there's quite a few suppliers, plastic will probably be cheaper. Several chaps on Ebay make custom spigot rings. This chap below does them for only £15 for a set of 4 in stainless steel:

The wires look great and the tyres are far better than low profiles even if they look very slightly too big . Did you consider 205 / 70 - 15 , they might look even better.
I only know as I bought custom spigot rings in the past as I put Camaro Z28 wheels onto a BMW E36 which had widened arches (this is because the GM wheels usually have a backspacing of about 3.75" whereas the BMW offset is usually only around 38mm, hence pushing the wheels out of the arches by another 2" or so - do your own measurements though as there are a lot of aftermarket sizes). Could be handy for filling out Kobra arches maybe (if needed that is)!
For those who don't know: a lot of BMW pcds are 5x120 which is very close to the GM chevy/pontiac/jag wheels of 5x120.65 (you shouldn't even need wobble bolts, just make ensure you tighten all five by hand BEFORE tightening up with an airgun or wheel brace!). Post'95 RRs also have a 5x120 pcd (be careful with some of these as the LR centrebore can be smaller so you could need them milled out to the BMW centrebore of 72.6). Lots of variety for the BMW based kits!
I did 10 years of drag racing which kept me poor during my 20's. I did know the Jag and Chevy stud patterns were the same but forgot (dementia?). I will widen my search for chrome wires to the states (ebay.com) however shipping could be heavy.
Yes you can use them now. We gave Kitcar the exclusive and did not want any shots going out till they had done the photoshoot (hence the 'copyright' watermark).
Funny you should say that we originally fitted 205's and they looked ridiculous. It would have had to been drastically lowered. I prefer standard springs, the cars rarely drive well with aftermarket reduced springs. The 225's give that lovely classic car 'squirm' as the tyres lean on hard cornering, but still grip.
We have a set of 16" MWS chrome wires on the next build with 215's. When they are on I'll upload a photo.
