Passed the MOT on Thursday so now road legal again. Had a nice spin in it yesterday and it certainly attracts attention!
Still jobs to do as I havent even got the inner boot panel fitted yet or inner wheel arches. Have to sand and compound the paintwork yet as well to leave a real sheen to the paintwork. Oh yes, have to fit lowering springs to probably just the front.
Understand where you're coming from but the cobra front is sitting higher than the original z3 panels were plus I already have a set of eibach springs to fit so will change just the front and when the rear tyres are due a change go for bulkier rubber there perhaps.
I am giving in to the amount of people asking if someone stole my grill, as you already have the experience of fitting, any chance you could let me know how you attached yours please?

Hi Lumpy, will try to get fresh pics of it as soon as i get the chance but the dark evenings may stop me from getting any til the weekend now.
I just attached the grill using polyeurethane adhesive (tiger seal is the same stuff I think) just held the mesh in place with tape and then used blobs of the adhesive every 10-15 cm around the parameter. If I every need to remove the grill it should pull off without breaking the mesh but I shouldn't ever have to take it off.
I toyed with the idea of sticking in threaded rods and using washers and bolts to hold in the mesh but was just getting too complicated to get the all in place and measured correctly.

I think there is a car show in Ballymena which is usually pretty big. I'm based in Portglenone so not too far away. i could give you a shout next time im on annual leave?
Only recently got around to installing the hardtop after wrapping it in matt black vinyl. It fits but its too tight on top of the new bulging rear arches so I'll need to trim them a bit (but not much).
I intend respraying the car a rich blue metallic as I cant really settle with the Burnt Orange - it just looks too dull most of the year round.
The car itself is spot on. Easy to live with and everything working as it should. Turns heads everywhere it goes. Went to one of the largest shows in N.Ireland last year and 3 guys who were marshalling saw every car coming in and made a point of tracking mine down as it was the only one they couldn't work out what it was. They loved it!
Thanks very much for letting me/us know. I like to see what happens longer term as it adds an extra dimension. Not only building but then living with the results.

Hi mate, I am in Belfast and have just started an MX250. You mind if i hassle you with questions? Nice looking Kobra.
The burnt orange wasn't vibrant enough unless the sun was blazing down on it so went for a VERY metallic blue which really zings in the sun but still looks rich on dull days.
Just got it off eBay as a special mix. Think they called it Atlantic blue sparkle. They described it as having as much metallic content as they could get away with!
Found the paint thanks blueface. Sorry for so many questions but I think your Kobra is the best I've seen and I've seen lots of them in the last six months while researching for my build. What wheels and tyres do you have on the car? I promise last question today lol
