Kit fest castle Combe

Yep, a friend of mine has sold his 911 (one of the last aircooled) partly because of the specialist garages and the clic within the owners club "ooh you get dirty hands", he's now looking for a mid 60's Mustang, have tried to get him to get a Kobra he lives Chris's way going to get him over there next time when I pick up my perpex bits....

I can see why the shows are failing though and the industry is finding it tough.

Stoneleigh was my first and only Kit car show visit and most of the stands genuinely did make their cars look appealing, but the shows are full of Kit car enthusiasts (mainly) so they need to look about attracting a new crowd.

I think the MX250 and Kobra etc. are the future for a new generation (No IVA worries for a start) but, and dont mean to sound harsh, if you google for a Kobra to find out more info there's nothing on the website and only one lengthy development thread here (plus an Ebay listing).

Only for seeing one in the flesh I probably wouldnt have ordered one based on what's online. :fear: (please dont feel I'm being harsh or having a go at tribute as I'm sure they are working on the website! Just my experience (but I've still ordered a kit and they are lovely to deal with! )

I dealt with Banham cars years ago and that really was a comedy act in every way - shoddy kit, shoddy service and a comical build video!

... and now Malvern has been cancelled.
See here...

A real shame as it was to be held at one of the nicest showgrounds you could find, nestling in the lee of the Malvern Hills. No overnight camping so would have made a nice weekend hotel break.

:( So no Kit Car shows in the South West this year then.

Just time to get down to a Bike Night 2014 - Weymouth Harbourside on the harbour at Weymouth's Custom House Quay. Thursday evenings, from 6pm, starting 10th April until the end of September. Come and see the display of bikes, trikes, scooters and classic cars. American cars on the last Thursday of each month. I make that the 25th.

I will try to get there next Thursday :)

2015 shows

Put them in your calendar now- what do you mean you haven't started a 2015 one yet?

early July 2015

Cars in the Park, Lichfield, Staffs
Single entries do not have to book in but park closes at 11am to single entrants. Entry to the park is free but there will be collectors from Midlands Air Ambulance at all the entrances. Car parking is being organised by Lichfield Lions Club and is £3.00 on Saturday and £5.00 on Sunday - all proceeds go to charity.

mid August 2015

Lupin Farm, Alrewas , DE13 7DQ. Apparently two fields of various vehicles. Entry is a donation to charity. Just drive and arrive, proceeds to the Air Ambulance.

My correspondent on the spot tells me that the Weymouth seaside shows start again on April 9th with the bikes - NOW at the Clock Tower, NOT at the harbour like last year.

American cars on the last Thursday of each month.

Depends how far you live from there.

My man, who lives in Weymouth states- "Misty tonight and since I've been to town, walking, and standing I've not gone to the bike show tonight."

Rear End

I will let people know when I get the tickets and work out how to distribute them. Possibly a small admin charge to cover postage or something.

Please let me know if you are definitely coming.

I have shown Chris my rear end and he said he was hopeful he could knock one out quite quickly. If Colin can make my rear end black in time you can all admire it again in the sunshine

I think before I said that I found your rear end a bit too large and featureless for me. I apologize if any offense was taken. :icon_wink:

Classic, Kit and Retro Day - Castle Combe

Yep, I'll be there in my Mk1 Marlin Roadster, but on the Dutton Owners Club stand. I consider this my spiritual home having owned 10 of them, or 11 if you count the one I bought back (see below).

It's a really good day out and Saturday's forecast is quite good :)

Billy No-mates here. No other Tributes seen, or Jagos for that matter. Managed to miss out on the track parade sessions but did get interviewed by the roving paddock microphone guy so was able to big up Tribute and the Z300S. Good weather at the circuit but rained a lot on the way home. Couldn't be @rsed to put the roof up, it's only water and I get wet in the shower every morning anyway.

I re watched ferris buellers the other day and noted that now, with older eyes, how much it looks like a kit car ;)

This DNA version looks more convincing even with the z3 raked screen
