This is a read-only archive of the old Madabout Kitcars forum. New posts and replies are no longer possible, but every thread is still here to browse and read.
Look what I found, my very first posting on this forum I think :
I have hankered after a pretty little sports car ever since I killed my Integra Type-R. I haven't found anything modern that I can afford that I like the look of. I really would like a Dino/RSK/D type but they really are silly money and the replicas just don't do it for me.
I ended up deciding to make my own based on a Locost chassis, BMW 3 series donor and styled like BRM GP but with seating for two.The main motivation for the choice of body style was the open wheels mean I didn't have to do complex curves on the bonnet.

you might like what's in my garage - maybe I should try to convince Chris to make moulds to keep my costs down!
The 2cv body is quite nice, but it looks to me like it needs deeper sills, and a smoother bonnet I think?
Should be good for parking. Would peugeot 107 engine fit. Cheaper tax and still has 60 bhp. Or ,or a punto 1.2 twin cam their quite small engines. 85bhp sounds quite sweet too, at high revs. Smart car or motorbike engine would be awesome power to weight ratio. Any weather gear. I know don't be boring but if I had one of those as a commuter car id be laughing. 107 does 60mpg. Think id have to do a detour to the hogs back then back home just to give it a good blast .mmmm nice.
Ha ha, don't want to divert the thread, but....
No you can't have a go as it's a long way from finished
It's an unknown '60s clubmans or F1200 chassis to which I'm fitting a 1000cc A-Series engine
I'm in Fife
and, (drum roll.........)
There was a vague plan at the start
(Oh, and this is a stupid home build in a single garage, so no competition Chris )
