Fantastic! An absolute bargain and an epic road trip to boot, inspiring stuff worthy of 'boys own' annual.
As for the reason for sale, it looks like Micha could've been right all along - in Germany, a car for the weekend fun the tuv inspector is not allowing.
Is she a keeper, or are you planning to improve and turn a tidy profit?
Either way, I'm looking forward to meeting you at some show or other and hopefully catching up with '66 - the car that really hooked me into this Sammio thing.
Oh, and I've just relayed the story to my wife. Who's now told me if I'd let her know how much it was up for sale for she'd have paid for the road trip so I could go and fetch it
If only I'd run it by her when I first saw the link , I might just've beaten you to it.
T, did you ever go to Detling? Thats where i saw it. To the right was the Hawk stand. I thought the Sammio was prettier than the 289...
That's right, it was Detling.
Much as I like the Hawk 289 (can't stand 427's though) the Spyder has it on looks as far as I'm concerned too. Far more subtle and less brutish than the Cobra.
I'm sure there will be people who disagree and think the Cobra's the better looking car, and they're entitled to their opinion. Even though they're wrong...
Ahh, I obviously didn't make myself clear. When I said 'apologies if it's you' I actually meant anybody who's reading the thread who happens to be the guy in the picture.
Whoever you are in the picture, I hope you bought a Sammio after talking to Gary for two bloody hours while I waited patiently to give him a deposit cheque.
