I'm working on aquiring a suitable (and period) chassis as we speak, but would want a few (very minor) mods to the body - return edges etc. Will keep you posted

Looking back over this tread at the little red TVR Jomar (which uses 2 Mistral front ends) I was wondering how much work it would be to recreate the "one-off" car....

Sneaky! ive been looking on ebay for those, are you going to make a kit with a roof using that TVR body then? very very interested!

It's a TVR GRANTURA MKIV body shell. If you compare the door shape, bulkhead, lower front wing and front lower part rear arch with the "Jomar" car you will see that they are exactly the same.

My idea is to "recreate" this car:




using the TVR shell and the Mistral front mould that we have. I have the doors and wheels already, just a few bits of trim to collect...

and a consul classic low line screen, if you fancied making a coupe!

Would the mistral fit the locost chassis?
Front overhang (from outer tyre) = 0 inches
Wheelbase = 93 inches
Front wheel centre to dash = 45 inches
Bulkhead to centre of rear wheel = 2 inches
Rear overhang (from outer tyre) = 10 inches
Width 58 inches

Wheelbase of the shell can be altered from approx. 83" (Triumph Spitfire) up to 90-91" (TVR's / Triumph Herald).

Any movement on this?

mistral body on locost

having aquired a mk2 mistral body the blue one with the twin intakes and a locost chassis you will out by 3 inches on the wheelbase. basically you need to add more in front of where the windscreen/aeroscreen would go which make sthe back half move backwards.

I haven't forgotten. I have all the parts, just need the time to stick them together........
