I bought a restored chassis and running gear to avoid most of the time consuming 'dirty' work (cheating!) have fitted the frame, floors, and offered the body up. Need to take to DVLA now before I can do too much more, but came back off 2 week holiday today so now need to get back to it! Cheers.

My Location is North Norfolk so thats at least two of us carrot crunchers,
Makes me wonder what the build status of the other cars is, the few active members of this website are progressing at various speeds and a handful now on the road.
It would be great to know just how many have reached roadworthy condition and just how unique our cars are..

O.K....I confess to being one of Gary's "lurkers". This is my first post after watching for over a year, and I would love to confirm what number body we have. I paid a deposit for our Sammio on 29th October 2010 just after the Exeter show.(invoice number 96). Picked up the kit on 230th December 2010 (invoice number 100) It's a beige gelcoat body, must be after Skippy and two black left handers that went to Holland. I think we could be 10 or 11? Perhaps you could research a little for me Gary? The next day you posted pic's of the red car having just been sprayed if that jog's any memories. Our project has been on ice since May, but today I took delivery of some lovely wire wheel hubs & spinners from Motor Wheel Services so things are looking up. I am based in Emsworth, Hampshire if anybody is near us - would be great to talk to other builders locally.

We got to the point of being almost ready to bond the body to the wooden floors back in April when everything ground to a halt for my two boy's A levels. The chassis welding was slow, and we also had to fabricate two new footwell's. Finding the right bucket seats and a set of 15" chrome wires on ebay took a while. We fitted a Mk4 spitfire fuel tank and a s/h swing spring on a 1" Canley lowering block. New copper brake pipes, clutch master cylinder etc. I will try and post some pic's soon.

We took on the project to help my eldest James's UCAS personal statement. Must have worked, he's now studying a Motorsport Engineering degree!

Are we still in double digits or who got the numbers 99 and 100? I must be close to that if August was high sixties.

So at 1-2 a bodies a week we could be around 90 Now?

Ooh it's exciting trying to work out the numbers!

Think I am 73? Twin hump kit collected in December.

I have now got a can! of Aston Martin Dubonnet Rosso (DU05804BC) and thats the colour I am going with.

a few updates and additions done.

We're starting to reach the 12,000 char limit for a single post, so i may have to rethink this thread as we continue to grow in size

I built a website for the Suzuki Owners club about 6 years ago that covered over 3000 members bikes, so I reckon I can adapt some of the pages for us. Happy to oblige if you want to.

I meant to respond to this sooner but i forgot, sorry. But this sounds like a superb idea so that we can all share ownership of the content. i.e. i have no personal reason to want to hog all of this!

Well tirtone's idea of a register sounds easier than updating lists on here.
( Sorry, I didn't realise there was a limit to the size of a post )



And at this point we should ask the forum moderator to make this thread a "sticky".
That way the link would always be the first post on the first thread on page one of the forum.
Which in turn would make it a lot easier for new members to find.

If the register covered Spyders, G-46s & Cordites, etc. it really would be a "one stop shop".
Personally, I find the build threads a great source of information / inspiration.

PE22 0QZ on google maps it highlights a place called Launderthorpe lodge. If you move along the road "Cut End Road" downwards along past the bends, my place is the next one along that road with trees before the house and a horse shoe shaped crew yard facing away from the house just past it.
