The thermostat housing from the early triumph 1300 and 1500 front wheel drive has two outlets one of which has a a filler cap (sealed type, not pressure cap) and a small take off pipe leading to a header reservoir.
These should fit straight onto a herald, vitesse or spitfire water pump and just need the redundant outlet capping off. I used a short length of top hose a nd a propshaft UJ bearing cap and two jubilee clips approx 30 years ago on a spartan.
Davecymru, I am obviously missing something here. Been trying for about 45 minutes to download a test picture, and comes up invalid url when I try to upload it. Think I'm trying to do something wrong, any help on this would be appreciated. Rocker.
My turn to try and upload a doodle I made based on the original 'German' style bonnet of the Sammio, with headlights moved backwards a few inches and faired in with perspex - and I've given the nose a slight curve as well.

Barry who owns the red car with black stripe and Cordite style screen in the gallery has just bought another body with german bonnet and Mike sold him some Datsun 280z style headlight pods to experiment with ....so you are definitely thinking along the same path !!

Although we are building an 'Italian' bonnet Sammio Spyder, I first saw the car with the 'German' bonnet and ordered one before any had been completed with the new Italian style.
There is definitely mileage in this version - with Cordite doors though.
I am glad I am not the only one with a soft spot for this look. I would buy it for the next project (thinking about a Dolomite Sprint engine version).

I'd heartily recommend getting a free photobucket account and upload your pics to that so that you don't have to worry about resizing etc.. then just add the IMG tag that they give you, and Robert's your fathers brothers

what sizing option did you pick for uploading into photobucket. I copied the img tags on a few old herald pics I had stored there a while ago and put them on the gt6 diff for sale thread and they came out huge!
out of habit i always tend to size images at 1024x768 max before uploading them in order to speed up uploads, save space and 1024x768 is just about nearly always big enough to see everything on in the real world.
Dave, my wife was worried this sort of thing might be "Habit forming" guess she was right.
As for that outrigger, thats got years of life in it yet. Have you never been to Boston? A very religeous people round here. They all have faith in the reliability of things as worn as that rigger lasting "a few more years"
Very funny! but if you saw some of the cars people bring into us, some peoples daily driver wouldn't be accepted into the local scrappy.
err anyone else on here using an Imac? image software hugly different and i havent as yet fathomed file size compression, having just converted from a windows os two months ago.
mind you .. the mac is wining on other counts, photo edit and such is just brilliant
