Adrian Flux provided mine last year. As far as I can remember it was £180 for 6000m, and no time limit on getting it registered.
A couple of others insurance companies only gave you a month to get it registered, which taking into account IVA, IVA re-test then DVLA inspection could be a bit tight.
As for the glue, it has to be sufficient to make the testers believe its a permanent fixture. Double sided sticky tape will not do
£180 sounds very good - but then I do have a -ahem- "motoring conviction"
How long did it take for AF to get back to you? I filled in their online form, and it said I'd get an email... Nothing yet.
FJ was very pushy - No sooner had I filled in the form and recieved the almost instantaneous email, I had a phone call from their call centres asking if the quote was OK and how would I like to pay.... :/

Don't use bostic to glue down rubber though it's a real PITA to get off afterwards.

I spent nearly the whole day yesterday cleaning mine off and i'm still recovering from the solvent fumes!
I think you'll need to stick them on for the IVA to make them permenant but my advice is clean them off the week after the IVA and don't leave it 18 months like I did.
I always used to be amazed with chilled and relaxed attitude to parking in the West Country. There where several locals who thought that parking diagonally across the T-Junction to the carpark outside my Mum's place was a perfectly sensible place to leave a car...
Don't forget the thermal underwear - your gonna need it.....
Also worth doing a dummy run - ie make sure you know exactly the route and where the place is before you take the Marlin. I got lost on my first test - fortunately on the way back ;-)
MOT gives you a quick check that mechanically you've put everything together OK.
I'll agree to dissagree with that, as I'm of the opinion a MOT certificate is generally not worth the paper it's printed on. Objectively it won't confirm the brakes will pass IVA, but it'll check the emissions - anything subjective isn't much use, unless seriously dangerous.
I thought for a moment that there was some strange rule with the IVA, as an MOT wasn't needed pre-SVA.
Thanks guys. I think I'm almost there - I need to get her out on the driveway tomorrow and stick the covers on the from dampers. I was going to do it today, but the weather got the best of me.
I do have a worry over the stuff I have behind the dash though now. I just wonder if they'd not like where my fuse panel is, saying it may be a contactable sharp object... I'm toying worth the idea of covering it up with some sort of panel covered in carpet.
When the panel is clipped up in place, it's above the line of the bottom edge of the dash... What do you think? Am I just making work for myself?
I think, in theory, if it's above the bottom edge of the dashboard you should be OK. Maybe just a piece of carpet with some holes punched near the edge attached with some cable ties would be enough for the test. You could just take it with you and zip it on if the guys not happy.
Also, the weather unfortunately is not looking good.
I made up a temporary tonneau from some thick polythene sheet and duck tape. (Wickes sell small sheets of damp proof membrane).
I stuck it all down first and then cut a hole with a Stanley knife just big enough for me to fit in. It kept most of the rain and spray out of the cockpit and allows the heater to work better.

BBC weather (on now) says you'll be dry this afternoon and tommorow for the MOT.
