BTW - how will you get the rear tub to the spray shop - will it go in the back of your car?

Yes, from memory, the rear tub fits in the back of my estate. I'll find out tommorow!

I found re-assembling took a lot longer than I planned.

Yes, i'm sure it will and I have a few things to do as I put it back together.

Well the 'die is cast'.....
The rear tub, scuttle and nose are at the paint shop and 3R1 it's going to be!

Of course, it turns out I've chosen a somewhat complex three (different) coat paint system with some 'exotic' pigments that will have to ordered in especially for this job. (Well at least there shouldn't too many other Sportsters with the same colour )

Well, here's a teaser picture of my painted car body.
I seem to have chosen a colour that is impossible to photograph, as it doesn't really look much like this!
(And yes, there are spots of light rain on the surface.)

And my bodyshop man want's to give it a final polish after the panels are fitted to the car

One thing is for sure, I won't need the man with a red flag walking in front of the car to warn pedestrians

Now comes the final assembly.......

Very nice colour ;)

The panels for my car go in for painting next week (in theory). I have still been struggling to find exactly the right colour - both colours that I though were possibilities (Audi Amulet Red and BMW Japan Red) clashed with the carpet I have bought. In the end I bought one of these

Well worth the £12 or so. Over 200 colours - I should find one that suits....

For all you 'unpainted' builders, ever thought of Silver......

Not sure I've seen this car before.
The show looks like its in the UK but the number plate is British Columbia.

The sign on the windscreen says that Peter Watson is the owner.

Nicely finished car and pretty cool driving lights!!

Correction: just checked the source photo's and the show was the "2010 All British Field Meet in Vancouver BC"

Looks good in silver and a nice build to boot.

Collection must have been interesting, Crediton to Vancouver in a Luton Transit must have taken a while!

Surely it would look better all in silver paint, looks kind of odd with the top and sides in polished aluminium, or am I the odd one for thinking that ?

Not the only one, I defo would have done the kick panels, looks odd with just the door. Actually I'd have done the bonnet and sides too :)
