Well the 'die is cast'.....
The rear tub, scuttle and nose are at the paint shop and 3R1 it's going to be!
Of course, it turns out I've chosen a somewhat complex three (different) coat paint system with some 'exotic' pigments that will have to ordered in especially for this job. (Well at least there shouldn't too many other Sportsters with the same colour )
Well, here's a teaser picture of my painted car body.
I seem to have chosen a colour that is impossible to photograph, as it doesn't really look much like this!
(And yes, there are spots of light rain on the surface.)
And my bodyshop man want's to give it a final polish after the panels are fitted to the car
One thing is for sure, I won't need the man with a red flag walking in front of the car to warn pedestrians
The panels for my car go in for painting next week (in theory). I have still been struggling to find exactly the right colour - both colours that I though were possibilities (Audi Amulet Red and BMW Japan Red) clashed with the carpet I have bought. In the end I bought one of these
Well worth the £12 or so. Over 200 colours - I should find one that suits....
Surely it would look better all in silver paint, looks kind of odd with the top and sides in polished aluminium, or am I the odd one for thinking that ?

Not the only one, I defo would have done the kick panels, looks odd with just the door. Actually I'd have done the bonnet and sides too
