They don't fit :( i've already offered one up

I will get one made up eventually though, the guy that did my CAT quoted about 500 notes for a custom one

it looks worse in the photos than in real life, plus it's never get seen again once the top scuttle panel is put back in place...


Plus I had to lighten the picture of the engine as it was a little under exposed

Bit of an update, most of the fuel and oil hoses are finished now :rockon: although it is a little tight in the engine bay now... solid engine mounts might be needed!

really it's whether they Q or not, I have 90% receipts for new parts and I have a reconditioned certificate for the gearbox but no receipt so it depends on how they see it I guess - plus 100+ build photos

Well, even though I didn't get all major components supplied by SC I still need a certificate of newness :/ plus even though the gearbox recon cert says "fully rebuilt and reconditioned" they won't accept it as it doesn't say "reconditioned to as new"

Just paperwork and words that need sorting then?

Can you get a certificate of newness from SC?

And get the gearbox place to reword the cert?

Hopefully :) I've spoken to the gearbox place and they are re-doing the recon cert/writing a letter reconfirming it being reconditioned to "as new" and I should be able to get a cert. from SC but it's just annoying and time consuming as I can only get to the DVLA on Wednesdays - but it looks like a new reg. will be going on it :D

Sounds like a good place to meet. About 2-3 hours away for me. It will have to wait until mine's on the road though. Might not be until late Autumn though. Purley financial. Car is nearly there. Just needs more than anything, exhaust and mapping.$$$$$

Serial number inspection is on Tuesday :) they accepted the paperwork :D

Always a good feeling when you can drive it on the road legally.

Just need the weather to pick up a bit. But I bet that won't stop you popping out with your new plates!

It's been a while since I posted an update, still not turned a wheel in anger - but with good reason, I accidently ripped out the old ECU and bought one of these:


Then I found I was up to by eyeballs in this:




Then thought "I should do this properly" so blew the budget on these:

Engine sensor loom progress

Although still not quite finished, here are a few photos of the wiring loom in progress...

Each wire has been colour coded with heat shrinkable "idents" to allow easy diagnosis of problems and allow tracability throughout the system - it also allows you have 100+ different colour codes so you never have to have the same coloured wire twice :)

Wires all coded up, crimped and ready to be inserted into the connector

Just need to finish off the sensor connectors then there's 8 other loom sections to build!

Looking good Chris.

I know how you feel. Takes a lot of time to do the wiring and get right.

Trouble with the wiring is, once finished and looking neat, people don't realise what work has gone into it and the amount of hours involved.

Nearly complete...

Rear engine bay power harness to fuel pumps and accusump


Rear engine bay sensor harness to oil pressure & temp. fuel pressure, lambda, fuel level and rear wheel speed sensors


Wheel speed sensor connector


Connectors passing through rear bulkhead


Auxillary sensor connector for future proof expansion

Should fire up before christmas :D

Will do :) I think I'll save the wiring up of the digital dash for later once I've run the engine in as I'll be running it on the laptop during that time doing some road mapping :)
