I take it you aren't getting the tax disc post-dated a few days to next month to get the most out of it? Where did you manage to get teh inspection so quickly?
We need more pictures now! Don't know if you saw but somebody on pistonheads spotted you out driving..

Saw Paul Sergent the head kit car examiner by chance at Chester DVLA office on Wednesday and explained I had been building the car for the last 4 years and really would like to have the car registered and on the road for Stonliegh. Although Chester office had told me the earliest they could book me in for inspection was 14th May Paul went out of his way to get me booked in for inspection (in Holyhead !) on the Thursday. As it turned out he could not fit me in but instead rang me back on Wednesday afternoon and said he had left instructions with two junior inspectors to do the inspection at Chester office 2.30 p.m. on the Thursday.
Have to say that the positive and encouraging attitude of the people I met at DVLA and SVA has made me revise my own attitude towards civil servants. They are not all nit-picking jobsworths and some will obviously go out of thier way to be helpful.

Rich, actually only worked out at £3 for having the car on the road for the 5 days left in April coz' the registration fee goes up to £50 from 1st May.

Not sure yet, few things to sort out before it goes back and it seems to perform o.k. for the time being.
