Interesting timing to hear about your heater as i'd always planned on fitting one to my next build after the Sammio as it was HOT in summer and FREEZING in winter. Your experiences have reminded me that I'm going to have to fit one before i go too far!
The heater is also useful for supplementary cooling if the engine temperature rises when you get stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the Cote D'Azur. Tsk, happens to the best of us.
Pleasant run down to Brighton, car ran for three hours non-stop at motorway speeds without missing a beat. Temperature also stayed resolutely in the cool zone which is cause for celebration. Copper cored radiators all the way for me now!

Really looking forward to the trip across to Goodwood in the morning, couple of beers and an early night tonight methinks.
Got quite excited by this retro Airstream caravan. Thought it might be nice for the odd budget weekend away classic glamping.
Then took a look at the price...
Plus VAT makes it £86,496. Not sure, but import duty might just tip it into six figures...

I think it's a replica as it has disc brakes, inboard on the back end (Jag?) and I'm fairly confident an original would've had finned drums outboard all round. Loved the detailing on the interior, even down to being able to see daylight through the gaps around the doors.
My Spyder ran perfectly on the 155 mile trip home this afternoon, taking just under three hours non-stop. I've racked up a total of 400 miles in it over the last four days, mostly at motorway speeds but including almost an hour stuck in traffic on Friday evening, and it didn't miss a beat.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Goodwood and I'd recommend anyone who loves classic cars to build your own 'special' and make the pilgrimage for yourself. You won't regret it.

I didn't go poking it to see what it was made of, but it had an expensive air about it so I'm guessing it's ally. If it is a replica I'd say you're talking at least F-Type Jag money to commission one the same.

Glad you had a great time Mr T. I was busy flogging dodgy watches & nylons all week end but did have a chance to see a bit of racing ....but then again I do get "access all areas" including the Drivers Club and the Paddocks ... ah the smell of hot engine oil
Perhaps by next Revival I shall have the Sammio on the road ...

I did keep my eyes open for you but didn't clock you I'm afraid. At one stage I had an ominous feeling that I'd just walked right past you and failed to recognise that it was you, but looking at that picture now I'm sure it was one of your colleagues.
Best of luck finishing your Spyder, I can promise you it's well worth the effort.
Wonderful day at Snetterton today watching the Vintage Racing Car Club chaps thrash their racers round the track.
You could even pay £25 to drive your own car round the 1 mile inner track for 20 minutes. I don't have track day insurance so passed on that one, then watched as a young chap with more money than skill rather inelegantly pirouetted his (Dads?) V12 SL AMG Merc into the tyre wall after entering a hairpin bend at 100mph+, gallantly stacking it nearside first so his girlfriend got the brunt of the impact in the passenger seat. At least nobody laughed, apart from everyone who saw it happen.
Thankfully nobody was injured and there wasn't too much damage to the car, only about three grands worth of panels and paint, maybe some new wheels and suspension plus whatever Mercedes charge to reset the explosively deployed roll bar which popped up on impact. Hope he had track insurance...

Just noticed an odd thing Mr Towed, the reg on the red Alpha:
on the front it is 160937 VE, but on the rear it is VE 160937
Strange?
A quick check on Wikipedia reveals that that was how it was done from 1932 to 1976. The VE indicates it was registered in Venice........well known for its roads.
Look's like you had a great day out Mr T, the two sammio's look the part parked up and i bet they look and sound even better on the road together.
The alpha looks the dogs bollocks, did you mange to get any interior photos.
The tanks in the boot of the cream car is something to behold, good craftsmanship there even the straps and clamps are a work of art.
Great day out and our cars ran faultlessly. Phil and I leapfrogged each other half a dozen times on the A11 between Thetford and Snetterton just for the fun of it.
Phil's car sounded awesome as it passed and he paid mine the same compliment. These old Triumph sixes are lovely smooth engines with a soundtrack that fits the cars perfectly. Mine's pretty quick too but Phil's has around 50% more power and is very fast indeed. His race car is going to be something else again!
The red Alfa is just stunning, sorry but I didn't take any shots of the inside.
Couldn't resist taking a pic of the tanks in the back of the yellow Maserati, the quality of the engineering was superb. There were plenty of other well engineered cars there, well worth a visit next year.
This is a replica of the 1955 Ferrari Mondial. From what I can gather they were originally developed by Gerry Hawkridge of Transformer cars and a guy named Stan Daniels in 1988 and based on Alfa Romeo mechanicals. After 1990 they were sold and were registered as ERRA (Elmsett Road Racing Automobiles) SD500 by Stan Daniels. I know of 10 of these cars including the Dutch one pictured at Goodwood.

That name transformer has pop up again, they certainly knew how to make what looks like a quality fiberglass replica, the body shape look's to be symmetrical and finished off to a T.
