I feel physically sick at the moment those panels cost best part of £3000. And I cant afford to buy anymore

First off all, I'm only awake due to the rain lashing down outside & my wife snoring inside.



Zagmad - Can I ask, in the nicest way possible, what exactly did you think was going to happen to the panels?

Photoshop is great for giving you an idea of how things might look when the conversion work is done.

But it is very clear, well, to me at least, that your external panels do not line up with your internal donor car.

So the only way you will end up with a car that looks like your photoshopped image is if the panels are "cut and shut".

Just take a look at all the finished cars on that thread and consider how great they look.

Then remember that everyone of those models started off looking the same way your car does now.

Chris and Dan create magical cars ..like all the best magic tricks the workings behind it are often less than glamourous .....the final illusion will be worth waiting for ...

Three grand for some fibreglass panels? That'd probably imake me blow chunks too.

Still, I do like what Chris and Dan are doing with them...

I know this is going to be a hardtop but it does look good as a convertible.
Watching Chris work his magic with "cut & paste", just think what he could conjure up with a hard top. No real restrictions on the rear window as he can use perspex. Try and picture a Stag or late Spitfire style hardtop fitted to his latest creation.

Keep the faith Zag, Chris did a fair bit of cut'n'paste to some lovely body panels when making upo my original Z300S

Pics? Seriously, pics?! PICS???

Think they'll come soon once the other side of the car has been altered as well. Bonnet is wider and longer but the gap between wing and bonnet is the same and bonnet and grill ar the same. The rear wing has returned to its original length but the boot as stretched to keep the boot space.width is the same. The wider lights of the gtv has balanced this out a treat. Its looking very Alfa Italia with a hint of Montreal at the front.

Crisis averted by ironically cutting the panels up a bit more

Scimitar SE5 windscreen and frame reversed and used as rear window fits really well.











Rear arches will be replaced by splash moulding/copying the fronts.

Blimey, that's going to be quite a car!!!

PS the oil drum barricade on the forecourt makes me smile everytime I drive by!

Ah just the person. Would you could you see how it would look finished. Coloured grey. Please using the pictures from the above.

I know. Its a bit of a challenge but the outlines their. And contours are quite strong. :-)

This is it . The final shape well when the gaps are filled and panels put back on and the bonnet stretched. I've bought a bonnet bulge like the Alfa Rome 2600 1963 coupe. Fingers crossed Chris can fit it but a low profile version of it. Will help break up the length and width of the modified bonnet.

Have you got a picture of the grey colour you intend to paint it Zag.

I rather like this one. It might just be me, but I think it's got a bit of the Beta Coupe look to it.



With a bit of squinting and some judicious panel slashing, could it even morph into this?
