Hi Tim,

Just guessing if this could be the issue, but uploading via this website is restricted to 5 photos in one go.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Deni

this doesnt seem to work from google photos, and i cant get the upload from my computer to work and now all my iphone photos are heic files and thats no good here either.

and LOL deni! I thought i was almost done then the doors are a whole story - we will see how my half reskin comes out, if not, i may need to do the whole skin.

and the windscreen - tried and failed to heat bend the polycarb and failed. the windcreen curved strip supplied with my kit was also a bit overambitious and i will look at an alternative.

I have a week or so between jobs to get cracking.

i really would like to post photos as i dont think ive seen anyone do blinkers like I have, that doesnt mean they havnt - or that my way is better, but for me, better than mounting them on the curve.

Tim – Apologies, ‘stuff’ has kept me away from the forum for a while.

I use Google Photos and you might need to set the setting to share.

Let’s see if the following helps…

Click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right of the Google Photos page.

From the drop down menu, click on Options.

From that menu, make sure the bottom ‘Link Sharing’ box is ticked.

Then go back to the photo you want to share and right click on it.

And select the ‘Copy image link’ option.

Then paste the link inside the [i m g] & [/ i m g] brackets, with no spaces, like this.

And with a bit of luck the photo should appear.

Hope that works, good luck, Paul. :)

PS
I know a story about Sammio Cordite doors.

Tim - I found the link by using 'Quote' on your last post and could see the photo.

Right clicking on the photo allowed me to copy the link and that gives me this.

So it definitely works.

ok with the picture there you might be able to see i was using expanding foam. i had made a paper cylinder, cut to match the compound curve of the body under the headlight.

when trimmed it looked like this:

the rear was done similarly, after much mocking up and family discussion about placement.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/nSLD1XtfhuH2VcKr8

actually from this photo I had abandonned the foam idea as too fiddly when all i needed to do was glue the disk onto the back of the body in the right spot:

I used CAD to get a mirror template/jig for the left. at this time I also prepared the herald number plate light. i'm afraid i have that at a barely noticible jaunty angle. what looks like a crack behind the speed hump is just a casting defect in the gel coat.

this is what it all looks like at the back finished. i did go ahead and hit the back with primer and red out of a rattle can but dont have a pic of that in google ready. you can just see the speedo. I cut the dash to low and have extended it since then.

thanks for watching!

found a pic of the back - well its mostly a pick of my little helper, but you see the car, the lights, and the reflectors I had to put on - you know, laws and boring stuff.

Tim - Sorry, I can't seem to get those links to work.

There is something not quite right here, as the code I got for the photo that did work, is a LOT smaller than the code for the latest photos you posted.

Cheers, Paul. :)

hey paul - frustrating. I tested those links and it showed succesfuly on those tests, and i''m sure they showed OK on the day i did it. I have those set to public and all that.

I will try again, but I am obviously doing this wrong as so many various ways are not working for me since photobucket.

thanks,
Tim

Tim – We are definitely getting closer to cracking this.

As I think you are copying the link of a photo in album view, rather than the individual photo.

I started with this link.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/TjqVmRFSeN2pXQ4D8

Which looked like this on my screen, after I cropped it to highlight the initial code.

I then used ‘Open image in new tab’, rather than use the ‘Copy link’ option in that menu.

In the new tab that opened, I then used the ‘Copy Image Link’ to get the code for the IMG tags.

Which gives me this.

It seems the code needs to start with ‘lh3 .google user content . com’ (with no spaces).

Rather than ‘photos . google . com’.

Following the same process, I also got these.

I think the sequence should be:
Select the photo album first
Select the photo in that album next
Then right click the photo for the ‘Copy Image Link’ code

Good luck, Paul. :)

PS
Nice work on the light plinths.

I get copy address not link. The short link is what i get when i use google's link generator. the long bit that starts with google user content seems to work today but from past experience will be gone tomorrow.
