Hi Nick, I was going by the rule of standing 10m to the side in line with the rear of the car, you can see the indicator falshing but its only a reflection and you need to see the lense, by the way where did you put your indicaters?

Nick, where have you got this info from - is it from IVA regs as I've been looking at C&U regs for a possible a352 build and it says that any vehicle first used after 1 April 86 needs side repeaters (and shows diagrams of required angles etc).

Some diagram Mister Towed posted ages ago. It had the visibility requirements on it. I think it was from the DVLA or The Ministry.

My mx250 passed its mot without side repeaters. As long as the orange flashing light is visible from the side it's ok!
That's how i understood what the tester was saying anyway.

This is the C&U regs:

1. Number (on each side of a vehicle)–
(a) A motor vehicle with three or more wheels, not being a motor bicycle combination, first used on or after 1st April 1986: One front indicator (Category 1, 1a or 1b), one rear indicator (Category 2, 2a or 2b) and one side repeater indicator (Category 5) or, in the case of a motor vehicle having a maximum speed not exceeding 25 mph, one front indicator (Category 1, 1a or 1b) and one rear indicator (Category 2, 2a or 2b).
(b) A trailer manufactured on or after 1st October 1985 drawn by a motor vehicle: One rear indicator (Category 2, 2a or 2b) or, in the case of a trailer towed by a solo motor bicycle or a motor bicycle combination, one rear indicator (Category 12).
(c) A solo motor bicycle and a motor bicycle combination, in each case first used on or after 1st April 1986: One front indicator (Category 1, 1a, 1b or 11) and one rear indicator (Category 2, 2a, 2b or 12).
(d) A motor vehicle first used on or after 1st January 1936 and before 1st April 1986, a trailer manufactured on or after 1st January 1936 and before 1st October 1985, a pedal cycle with or without a sidecar or a trailer, a horse-drawn vehicle and a vehicle drawn or propelled by hand: Any arrangement of indicators so as to satisfy the requirements for angles of visibility in paragraph 3.
(e) A motor vehicle first used before 1st April 1936 and any trailer manufactured before that date: Any arrangement of indicators so as to make the intention of the driver clear to other road users.

And this is the MOT requirement for post 86 only:

Vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must be fitted with one side repeater indicator on each side. Instead of a separate lamp, the side repeater might be part of the front direction indicator if it includes a wraparound lens. Lamps incorporating a side repeater are marked either with an ‘E’ mark in a circle or an ‘e’ mark in a rectangle above which is a number 5. However, some vehicles are fitted with a wraparound lens with no European approval markings. These can be tested by standing approximately 1000mm to the side of the vehicle’s rear bumper with the indicator on. If amber light can be seen coming through the front lens (not a reflection) this is acceptable.

Nick, red is the colour that will always sell, but your car is different enough to do in another car I think. Have you gone off Sea Foam Green?

Yes, all gone quiet on the car front. Work is very busy, too busy tbh. Doing 60+ hr weeks so no time for the Ferazza. I really need a car with four seats, so even though it's taxed, insured and Mot'ed t rarely gets used unfortunately.
Still haven't made up my mind about the colour. Hope to spray it in August, take it to Goodwood Revival in September, after which it will be looking for a new home.

What profile tyres did you go for in the end. Did you have to roll the arches. I'm trying to find the right balance of period look and not too much weight. I've got 15 inch wheels could fit 205's just not sure on what profile without carving the bodywork. These are to go on the amz . Your build looks great.

If you read back through the thread you will see I cut 70 mm from the arches, almost to the top of the inner arch. I can't remember now what tyres are on the back, but it's in the thread.......

70mm's off the rear arch. Was that to allow for lowering or on standard springs.

40 mm lower.

How did you solve the wipers on yours? I must say i´m not happy with mine...

Initially extensions, then recesses with no extension, then a flip front so standard wipers.
I can post a pic if you want.

Yes that would be very kind of you! My concern is how to finish the edge against the screen. I dont have any plastic panel under the wipers as it is missing. I might have to get one. But please post a pic, that would be great!

No worries mate!

I can see you kept the cowl panel (is it called that?). Unfortunatly i havent got one. But i must say yours look a lot better. I´ll have to se if i can get hold of one.
