Loving that color, thanks!

Looks good, but why do the flatting back so soon? I was told to wait weeks before I did mine.

2k air dries after 8 hours, I flat n polish the next day on all my work, however in the summer the paint can re-flow and show some flatting marks meaning a top mop may be needed.

Most cars baked in an oven can be flat n polished after about an hour or so.

If you wait too long the paint can be over hard which makes mopping a bit harder.

looking good. Your description of the paint 'properties' re colour sounds similar to my Wife's Fiat. A strange thing happened when we got a touch-up paint from the main stealer..... when we took it outside it looked green, compared to the blue of the car. Dealer agreed and ordered another from depot: The next one looked the same, so he phoned the depot. The outcome..... If we took the wee brush loaded with paint and painted some on a spare washer, before our very eyes in about 20 seconds it changed from green to blue!! A perfect match as well

Not sure about the colour choice but the shine is good.

Not a problem, it's only me that needs to be sure about the colour.

What is that color. Liking that for a 356 outlaw coupe..

I found a B&Q colour chart colour which I liked, the paint suppliers then sprayed lacquer on the card and used their computer matching to get something near.
I can ask the painter for the supplier and any codes they have if it helps.

Planning and drawing stage right now. The plan:
356A or Pre-A fiberglass body, pie cut fenders.
watercooled "sidewinder" 4 cyl and gearbox from a FWD car, TBD
tube frame chassis with IFS, disc brakes all around
Perhaps 15" Minilites or widened Wide-5's.
Usual 356 dressings, no bumpers, etc. Adjustable ride height.
I do have sources for everything needed. I'm in Florida, no issues to register or insure.
Build thread will begin when I do.

Sounds good have you seen kitzkrieg based in San diego they do the normal Vw base but also a tube chassis version with a modded body

If that's straight out of the gun it's very impressive! Looks like the extra prep was worth it - looks very shiny - is it lacquered?

Looked at them, I know a builder that has had several issues.
I prefer to roll my own. The body is not a stumbling block for me.
Been fiberglassing since the 1960's.

Old saying: "Wrap your ass in fiberglass".

Colours a very personal thing I've had a yellow motorbike for years and the amount of negative comments I hear about are quite funny...would be nice if was red/black etc.....but then t would be like everyone else's I tell them!

Colour is such an emotive thing! I would not have chosen that colour but it's what YOU want and like NOT what everyone else wants.
