Inside the boot!
28 Jun 2013, 9:37pm
Well it is inside the boot, but it sort of pops up when you need it.

Just refitting the door seals. Rear window in, all the lights work. Had a quick whizz around with the vacuum, and just sort of throwing some interior bits in. Still need to fit mirrors.
MOT tomorrow am, then hopefully over to Poole to see which bits fall off along the way......

Same post as on BBQ thread but.....

Thanks for a great do Chris! Thanks for coming to find me too, I promise to get a sat nav that works or a map that has Hurst Moreton on it for next time! Better late than never!
The new workshop is fantastic and perfectly retro for all your cars. Nice size workshop and a forecourt too. A good show of 250's, and nice to put faces to forum names and look at the cars. It interesting how they come from the same moulds, but all look so individual.
It was a long day for me, last minute jobs in the morning, insured it (£115, Adrian Flux) then off to the MOT at 10.30 (already late....). Arrived with smoke pouring out of one front wheel, and a seized caliper. Super MOT tester Mark had it on the ramp and a new caliper arrived before I new he had ordered it!! A tweet of headlight aim, some brake bleeding and it passed. :-D Many thanks to Mark for his enthusiasm and time on a Saturday
Hoofed it 95 miles down to Dorset, where I clocked up another 25 miles getting lost as my phone is ill, and confused.
After the meet I hoofed it again (all legal limits Towed!) to Washington just past Arundle bringing the day's total mileage to 180. :-/
It was my first real drive in an MX5. It loves to rev, and goes around any corner I thought I would not make....great B roads in Dorset. The exhaust is a bit of a drone on the m way but worth it for the rest of the time.
Back home today so total miles about 225 this weekend.

THANKS AGAIN TO CHRIS AND DAN FOR A GREAT DO!!

And it probably looks faster than it was :fear:

Well, after a friend of a friend was arrested last week for boasting how fast he had taken his BMW up to and posting it on Facebook, I wouldI be silly to do the same, wouldn't I?
2 Jul 2013, 10:12am
When I was a kid we used to brag about how fast all our different bikes, scooters and cars went. Everyone knew that everyone was talking carp and bumping up their top speeds, no-one cared. Post it on Facebook and Mr Toweds friends turn up with a warrant, no evidence other than a Facebook brag, but they can still arrest you.

If I admit to the Brinks Matt robbery, the Great Train robbery and knocking down the walls of Jericho then will I be in big trouble?
2 Jul 2013, 10:39am
The people that get the knock are the people that kindly provide evidence for the prosecution. Bragging and hearsay aren't evidence, but a video posted in the public domain certainly is. And, if anyone is daft enough to do that, then they don't have much cause for complaint.
2 Jul 2013, 11:12am
If they post up the prosecutions case then fair enough - arrest them for being dumb too
2 Jul 2013, 8:10pm
said person bragged about not stopping for unmarked cars, exceeding 150mph in his M5, but also posted videos of 120mph shenanigans and nailing customers cars from his work up and down the A27 in Chichester.... silly boy!

Exeter

Just back from Exeter.Nearly got my voice back from all that talking. Fun being on the stand and great to meet up with Tribute car owners, builders-to-be, and the odd Sammio owners too!
Came home to find my nice rear number plate had arrived, just after I left. Never mind. Time to transfer the reg over now.
Here's some pics......

Rear screen

Might sound like a daft question, but what rear screen is used on the MX250?

I notice no side repeters but you had an Mot before the BBQ, seems its all down to interpretation of the rules.

Hi T, my indicators are 100% legal because...
They are visible 45degrees forward to the opposite side, and are visible behind within 5 degrees if the centerline.
In the recess below the headlights I have outer distance markers (white side lights). If you gave your indicators there they will not pass, but you know that now!!
Cheers,
Nick
