Saw you haring up the A10 past Stow Bardolph on my home from work tonight Phil, car looks great on the move. I did flash and wave but you were too busy trying to break the sound barrier to notice me in my blandmobile.

Glad you got your car sorted Phil. Mine's running A1, starts on the button hot or cold and runs as smooth as a smooth thing.

I do now have a couple of 1.75 Strombergs with adaptors for the Vitesse manifold waiting in the garage to be rebuilt and fitted. They should stop my motor running out of puff at 4750rpm and give me more top end power. £50 from ebay. Bargain!

Looking forward to 'shell's party next week, I'm off all weekend so won't have to get up at stupid-o-clock on Sunday. See you soon. :)

Phil - You car looks very "mean" with the black wire wheels.

( I had to go and check an old photo to confirm they were previously silver. )

Cheers, Paul. :)

Nice pictures Phil, shame I couldn't join you :(

Took my young'un down to Duxford for the classic car meet - I'll get him interested in old cars somehow - just a pity it wasn't in the Spyder.

Nice one Phil. Got to say, despite my reservations those black wires really suit your car. Probably because they're dark wheels against dark paint - I've always liked subtle contrast rather than a clash of opposites on race cars - which is why I went with white roundels over silver paint instead of black ones.

That could be from my Beetle modding days. Back in the day (sigh) my favourite bug colour schemes were light pastel shades with the doors done in white -

Enjoy the sunshine Phil, I'll be fitting a towbar to my Mondeo today so I can use the 'A' frame to recover broken down Spyders. Of course, I'll never need it... :loco:
