Really tempted to build one of these using a 2.8.
I have PM'd Chris for a price (guess it is c£3k based on the cobra price plus a bit more for the roof?)

It shouldn't be that much. Don't forget that the Kobra is a different type of replacement body which promises an easy to fit bolt on kit using the original BMW mounting points. The extra work needed to manufacture this is reflected in the price.

On the other hand, the Swb will be like the mx5 gto kit which requires much more work to fit and blend in. The mx5 kit is around £1900 so the Swb should be around that price.

It looks good in all colours!

The latest Z3 after being delivered to Chris by an excellent Polish transport company , Geoff .

A very nice car Geoff. The seats are great, I will remove and store them away. Did you notice that odd paint blister on the passenger door? It's like a small balloon!

Will be cracking on with the SWB project post Stoneleigh.

Chris yes i did notice the blister very odd , dont like the seats myself am going to replace them , thanks Geoff .

Is there an update (inc new pics) of this conversion?

With the run up to Stoneleigh and the Kobra going into production, the SWB progress has slowed somewhat, but we will be back up to speed after the show and a much needed holiday.

Will you have a SWB 'work in progress' at Stoneleigh?

I'm quite drawn to this one, I think it's going to really work.

The Kobra looks great now it is painted (the blue one) so looking forward to see this one finished and painted before I decide which one to go for :-)

Puma931 , everything comes to those who wait! obviously i beleive that the SWB is the one to go for and having seen some of the work done by Chris and Dan the waiting will be worth while , Geoff .

I may not have a car to attach it to , but i do have a Made In Italy (Nardi) wheel , Geoff .

TVR doors look like a great starting point for the SWB shells and the Z3 skins:

You might want to sand that a bit before you take a cast from it.

Is the plan to use the BMW doors as is, or to re-skin them?

We are planning to retain the Z3 doors and over skin them.

Here's an idea that may or may not work, replacing the side windows on a Z3 softtop with one's from the "coupe". I need to do some photoshopping....

Filling on the wooden buck is still plodding on, pun intended!
