I have messaged Tribute on a couple of occasions regarding importing an MX250c to the US. Can't seem to get a response. Did he bite the dust or is he just not interested in selling his kits in the USA?

Obviously the 250SWB is the focus at present, but did this one ever get completed?

They did a great job on the 250swb.

But I'm wondering if there will be any progress now or in the Future,
with this project. I hope it will ,I've a mx5 waiting.

Use of the swb and other Italian design ques may eventually be used. As mentioned before I'm keen for the use of zagato lines to be in the mix as well. So possibly something masserati and Ferrari. Hopefully be making a visit to drop some parts off this month if all goes well. Headlights /front and rear bumper/tailights/side repeaters/ just the grill shape and vents to sort .

I'm looking forward to what the build might be but possibly not this month maybe July or august.

Popped in last week and the back end is coming along well. Even had a go at shaping the foam.

Any pictures from this most recent trip? maybe Chris can take some if you haven't yet...

I don't have the skills that would do it justice but possibly when the shape is more defined Chris will probably put some on. Maybe some teaser shots to give an idea of the direction it's going without the whole shape being given away.

Is there any update on this build?

Progress er . Rear end not far off . Front end not far off. Rear window has changed as a suggestion was made by Chris and that required some tweeking for it to fit. Will try and pop up next month to help with padding it out and adding some shape to the back. Door line has been settled. combining two car styles with the donors shape has been er difficult.

Great stuff, glad to hear it's still rolling on as I think the shape is great.

Yep. I think the models a 1956 coupe gt zagato that looks similar to the one above but the headlight and front wing area is similar to the 250 swb. With an oval grill usually with two tone paint

Would love one of these if a kit was available. To get the 4seats what would be the base?

Does it have to be 4 seat
mgb would give a good 2+2 base and true to period wheels and interior detail options

If you need more modern power plant - k series engines or mx5 have been fitted to mg's

I thought the whole point of the tribute kits was to give you a classic look on reasonably priced modern underpinnings. An mgb is neither of those. It would be all show and no go and a definite no go for me

3 series convertible or an a4 convertible would be my choice. Why destroy a classic?

I would be interested in seeing a classic styled 4 seater based on 3 series or a4 convertible.
As Tributes are only body kits the monocoque (unibody) remains unchanged beneath and the door openings, glass area remain as standard.

Just the windscreen alone makes me think the designs possible are limited.

Four door classic er... Mazda exodus 6 has a curvy roof. Isn't too chunky like a classic sports car. Possibly an old bm convertible 3 series 1.8/2.0. Would give a chance for a curvy roof and seat space possibly 80/90's shape. Something American with high rear wings might work to copy. Chevy / Lincoln / Morris minor. Maserati did quattoporte

But if it's not a replica and a "tribute" then a variance on windscreen shape would be ok.

With a 3 series convertible you could rework the hard top with the little bulges of the 250 lwb

Rear end may need to be cut to get the shape but it could look quite nice

If you cut the rear end you are into IVA issues
