pihl and barry run out

17 Jan 2014, 11:50am
Hi MT

Thanks for the info.

Is there a big difference in the sound of the straight six compared to a four cylinder with for example the exhaust system fitted to phils spyder.

The four pots sound pretty good with a straight through exhaust. Not as good as a six though imho.

I have a single cherry bomb on mine now which crackles and pops on the overrun in a most pleasing fashion :icon_cool: but is just the right side of too loud.

Will have to get some drive by videos posted like Phil has for a comparison, but here's some footage of it being test run when I installed it (for best results listen through decent headphones) -

Cheers Phil will more than likely be on here asking plenty of questions once I take the plunge and start to build a 50's rep.
Been looking around for a donor for a few weeks but so far the cost is above what i want to pay, will keep searching and hopefully find one local who knows may be even a straight six.:music:

Fascinating clip Phil, looked like not much could live with that on the track apart from the white 2002 that made off while its twin flicked cones at the Vitesse.

Until the motor blew that is...

Everything's fine with me, looking forward to some dry weather so I can dust off the Spyder and go out for a blast.

I agree with Mr T, most enjoyable. :pop2:

All the car looked very stable with no tyre screeching or even body roll, is this what saloon racing is normally like?

Why do you ask Phil?

I'm 173, but I have only half a car, so that must make it 86.5.

awesome picture.

I think I will be changing my screen saver !

Is your car black or dark green Phil ? Tricky to see the color correctly on my pad.
I know some BRG's are very dark.

I like the painted headlamp trim too. i have only seen that on one other car. MikMiglias original car #66 ? It really suits the car.

Good job Sir !

Nice pic Phil, they've done a good job of revamping the TMP in 'Lynn and your car completes the picture nicely.

Wish I could've joined you today but I'm laid low with the flu bug that's doing the rounds at the moment. :(

Have a great day's driving and I'll join you as soon as I'm well again.

Oh, PJ - Phil's car is a 50's Jag green which does tend to look black on a computer screen.
