Looks like a major job on the bulkhead, which should look great when the plastic is peeled off.

It is a pain, but adding [ i m g ] before and [ / i m g ] after the image link, without spaces, gives this…

Yes, the bulkhead is done and I'm pleased with it. I decided to use the fibreglass one underneath, as it is light and adds strength. In the beginning, when I made the fibreglass copy of the original bulkhead, in my inexperience I thought it was important to replicate the original bulkhead, so cladding it with aluminium was a bit of a challenge due to the curvy shape. However, I am happy how it turned out.

If I knew then what I know now, I would keep it simpler, but using it helped me with positioning the pedals, the master cylinders and the steering wheel in good position.

Deni – Glad the photos appeared to you ‘somewhere’, as I knew I could see them.
(Which meant I was completed stumped when you said it was blank on your screen.)

Have you read my build?

There were plenty of times I made more work for myself on a project that already had no end in sight.

However, if you can keep chipping away at the ‘To Do’ list then the day will come when the car is done.

Yes, it's weird- I can see the photos on my laptop and my phone, but they are not showing on Android tablet I have. It must be something with Android OS.

Yeah, my build is slow, and I work on the car whenever I can, but as you said, I'll keep ticking the jobs off the list till it is done, and I'll try to keep it simple in the future. 😉

Your build thread is one of my "go to" places when I'm trying to figure out how to do something. The determination and the patience you showed while building The Swordfish outside, on your driveway remains inspirational. Builds like yours, Mr.Towed's, Dave Cymry's and couple of others encouraged me to try to build my car.

Yes, you've put a lot of time in building The Swordfish, but you did build a great car, so I guess it was worth it.

Yeah, I live in Manchester city and the garage is an hour drive one way, when it's not busy.

I have tried to upload photos as Paul L suggested, but it did not work. I have added [img] before and [/img] after the photo link, but when I upload the photo, the character / behind the link appears as : (see the link on the first image).
I don't know if this is the reason why the photos still don't appear and I tried to change it, but it was not possible.

However, here are a few photos of the work I have done on the car this past weekend.
I decided to make a box to cover the master cylinders, as the rubber shoes might not seal the holes where the pedals attach to the master cylinder forks as good as on the original bulkhead panel.

I have made back compartment as well.

After pondering about it for a while, I have decided to buy a new aluminium petrol tank and move it behind the seats, in the compartment I made.

I'm also considering the options for making a wheel compartment. At the moment it's just an idea. I might make a little boot, or a platform that can be dropped underneath the car and allow the wheel to slide out when the car is jacked up. I have this small 13" Triumph wheel which fits nicely there behind, so maybe I can use it as a "space saver" spare wheel.

I fancy a little boot at the moment, but I'm a bit reluctant to cut the opening in the body...we'll see.

Deni – As you know, my boot opening seemed like a good idea at the time.

But it was one of the most difficult things I did on my build and that is saying something!

Despite that, it is very useful and did make camping at the Goodwood Revival much easier to do.

Finally, I think my previous wording about photos may have been misleading, so here is a picture guide.

I start here, clicking on the link that appears.



When I click on the link this is the code I see at the top of the screen.
(Notice how it is different to the first code.)



I then select the whole code and select copy.



And paste it into a reply.



Then this is the code I add the i-m-g before and after.



And when I post the reply, this appears.



And repeat as required.



Note - I have a Word document to write my replies, before posting them, that makes this a bit easier.

Just noticed that my previous reply was not posted in it's entirety for some reason!?
Anyway, regarding the boot - I don't think I would be confident making a boot opening like yours. If I decide to make one, I will try to make a small opening towards the bottom of the body and not including the humps, just big enough to slide in and out a small spare tyre.
But first I will try to make a platform that drops beneath the car and allows the tyre to slide out, to try to avoid cutting the body. That's the idea at least....

Hi all,

A quick update of the build progress. These are back floor panels that bridge the gap between the chassis and the frame. I'm pleased how they came out and I managed to make them in one piece for each side.

I have also added some reinforcement to the floor panels

I'll add angle bar all around later on to make it look a bit nicer
