naw - The general idea is that anything produced from a mould will be an exact match of the mould itself.

So if the inside of the mould had a rough finish, then the outside of the finished panel would match.

I think Jaguartvr is suggesting that because the "buck" for the mould was not painted, then the mould itself will not be smooth.

However, I think Chris has produced a smooth buck and by the looks of it the mould & panel are "good to go".

You would still need to put some primer on before paint.

But by the looks of the photos I would say you will not have to deal with loads of "factory" imperfections.

Hi Naw - This is a pic of my car part way through sanding the paint off. I had the car painted quickly by Chris so I could drive it around for a while before getting it professionally painted in the desired colour so I am currently in the process of sanding off the original paint.

There are a couple of low spots that still have the paint showing although these were not visible when painted and most have sanded out since this picture was taken. What this picture does show is the smoothness of the raw black glass fibre produced from Chris's moulds.

Fitting the kit is a quick process. We will be posting a video of the basic fitting later this week:

Well done guys, its really looking great. This must rank as one of the quickest and easiest Cobra kits to build. And unlike most other Cobras, this one can be used as a daily driver.

Have been busy the past few weeks so havnt posted for a while but i had bought myself a z3 which i bought from my uncle. ive been driving it about for the past few weeks and have now put it on ebay...

Reason being i didnt realise how slow the 1.9 is!
I was toying with the idea of buying a bumped m3 and geting the big boy engine dumped in (this was after i seen the price tags on the z3ms!) but would still be too costly!
The Z3s on ebay with no reserve and runs perfect as it should (my uncles owned it for the past few years and only managed to drive it 1000 miles a year on average.

That looks pretty clean, and would make a great Cobra!

I already was impressed by your Z300S transformation. Now I discovered your Cobra conversion and my sons are very fan of it. It looks that this takes less work to put on the BMW (lights, ...).
So, could you make me an offer for this kit, transport to Belgium included. What lights (E certified) do you suggest?

Fuel filler

Chris do you have any piccys or ideas on the finishing of the fuel filler mate? Looks like quite a curve to fit to mate.

Cheers but Id like something flush if possible. Would the chrome flip cover of a Mk 2.5 MX5 fit the curve?
