Tribute Z3gato (?!!)

I think you are right about the flat ones not working. Anybody got any other possibilities?

Real bummer! Last year I gave away three acrylic rear screens from the 2VEV car pattern.

The Audi A6 c6 estate is similar, not sure about the width.

It wraps around quite a lot. More so than the 250 SWB.

I'd look at front screens too ... Scimitar ? Spitfire , Herald etc...

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, they look much better than the ones I eyeballed. It looks like the Scimitar ones could be an option, they are a couple of inches deeper, and the S5 and S6 ones are different widths, so maybe a better chance of a fit?

Lancia Zagato - seen last week

Here are some pics of a nice car I saw last week.

They may be too expensive but what about the screens Justin at Grassbank make for the 250 SWB kit ?

I thought of Grassbank as well

Or E-Type coupe, sorta a big mgb?

The obvious solution is of course a convertible!

Looking at the Greengrass blog, you could fit their window conversion, would do away with the problem of the curved side windows.

Great minds eh ?

I saw one of the grassbank rear screens at Nubodi's recently. Nice bit of clear kit. And so much bigger than the MGB screen. No idea how much it cost though

The roof of the car is based on the 275, which is wider than the 250 and slightly higher. I expect that this changes all the dimensions, so would not be surprised if the GTO or Grassbank windows prove to be US in this case. I will check with Chris. However, I expect that we will have to follow a similar process to Grassbank and make a buck.

I agree about getting the profile correct.

I’m liking that bonnet. Would love a Kobra or Zagato bonnet swap thing going.

Just like WCA’s short and long nose bonnet :)

Dave, we are making the bonnet to hinge at the front. I want to have aircon, and whilst we can fit an aftermarket slim fan, the front will still be a bit longer than the 250 SWB. Front hinged also means no problems with the struts, and more space to work on the engine bay.

Had you considered the Astra G? Should be cheap as chips.

15 Jun 2018, 12:18pm
Good shout, one to consider.
15 Jun 2018, 12:48pm
My 250 has the aircon fan fitted. Just a very slight trim of the bonnet which is hidden by the front numberplate.
The bonnet using the original BMW hinges works well and gives superb access. With the uprated £50 rams the bonnet stays up on its own.
The more modifications you make the more problems you can run into. As they say, if it ain't broke..........

Bear in mind all the "blacking" around the edge of the window, it wouldn't look right.

Wouldn't it polish off? - Just checked, apparently you would have to abrade it down then polish the window glass. Probably would look a real mess if i did it.

Not sure if you can get it without a hole for the rear wiper though

Barber – Your car does appear to be shaping up nicely.

Good luck with hunt for rear glass, Paul. :)

Whilst not ideal, a hole can be plugged with a chrome disc or something. I could live with that.

Have a look at a 1995 type Nissan micra rear screen. It has nice curved edges on it and is narrow enough to possibly fit

Funnily enough, I spotted this near my daughter's house last evening!
