After abandoning my Ribble Pilot late last year, I have decide that having the Vitesse Chassis, Engine and all the new running gear just sat in my workshops, is just a waste.
So I am putting some of Land Rover Projects (seven of them) on hold, and getting ready to make a fresh start on a Miglia Speedster.
micky1mo seems to have got a lot further with my previous Ribble bodywork, than I was ever going to.
I have had the all the out riggers, rails and the extension arms replaced on the chassis, and it is getting shotblasted this week, so painting then building will commence mid March when I am back in the UK.
More stupid questions will follow........

I like the idea of white... are you brave enough? I love the tan interior and covered dash. I suppose wires are the way to go, even though i'm keeping steels.
I am wanting to go with white for the chassis and frame, I think with the tan and red paint work it will work, just can't 100% convenience myself.
For the wheel I was thinking of trying the a set of moon (metal spun) wheel trims, see what they are like, if I don't like them then I will go with wires.
On another note do you know if it is legal to use GPS speedo in the UK, also I am think of using a SpeedHut gauges.

White chassis with red paint will look very period imho. Go for it!
I like the idea of moon discs coupled with narrow tyres, very Bonneville salt flats speed trials. Go for it!
The construction and use regulations require road vehicles to have a speedometer that's visible and well maintained, but there's no mention of whether it needs to be mechanical or can use the GPS system. This means that legally you'll be fine with a GPS speedo, it just won't look very fifites. Erm, go for it if that's your bag.
There's further legislation regarding accuracy - it should never show a lower than true speed and must not read more than 110% + 6.25mph of actual speed, but I've never known anybody actually check that. It shouldn't be an issue with a GPS speedo anyway - in my experience of doing speed checks on patrol cars using a laser speed gun the sat nav's speed reading has always been dead on while the in car speedo typically reads at least 10% high and gets more inaccurate the faster you go (showing 66 at an actual 60mph, 115 at a true 100mph etc).
Just remember that if anyone ever decides to check your GPS speedo accuracy they won't be able to do it on a rolling road...

We use the Langy's (Rebel) 8 Circuit looms (http://www.langysrodshop.co.uk/wiring_kits.htm) and can vouch for them (They also do looms for 9+3 and 20 circuits) . They will be standard fit on all our turnkeys rather than battling 30+ year old Triumph looms.
As well as being colour coded, they have the feed printed on them every 6 inches! (e.g. Left HL Main Beam, Right HL Dip Beam)
There are some wheels with disc covers in the latest Ribble News photos, and I really like that look.
( My Spitfire donor came with new alloy wheels & tyres, so I'm using them. )

He has fitted some sort of new wiring loom ( I think it might be the one Andy is talking about).
I'm also pretty sure he is fitting the same, or very similar, gauges too.

Cheers Andy, Have you a copy of the wiring diagram, and how long are the wires in the loom, the kit I was looking at the just the fuse box, no wiring!!! so this seems a better option (might also use on the Land Rover depending on the wire length).
Just finalising the Logo before ordering the gauges.
I looked at the CBS module but the loom from Langy's was not much more and included all the wiring, I haven't installed my loom yet but all the spurs look to be long enough.

Thanks, emailed Langy's and they said "these kits are universal so will be fine for a 22ft Cadillac so you won't have any problems."
I am going to order two 20 circuit one's, I know this is an over kill, but at least I have over capacity for future idea's.
I am putting heated seats, electric fan, fuel pump, radio/aux chargers etc....
I've requested a copy of the wiring diagram, so I can plan a few more bits in detail, just wait for a response. If they are as good as they look I will get a few more for my other Land Rovers as these are 1/4 the price of just the wiring looms.
The FAQ says that the front Left and Right looms are 15 and 18 feet respectively and the rear are 18 and 24 feet so there shouldn't be any problem with any of your projects.

Why not try a set of MGF alloys, I'v fitted a set to your old Pilot and I recon they really suit the car.
As a matter of interest and taking into mind that I am still shopping about for my project.
I know from reading this forum that over a hundred Sammios are out there in various guises , but how many Miglias are in circulation?
I assume not many Spitfire examples as these are new but the Miglia Speedster has been around for over a year now , so I assume there are quite a few about.
I have found a couple on here being built but only 2 cars regularly come up on my search engine , the red one in Germany and the green one ( broken up and dismantled - I believe )
Any one who reads this forum but not a poster on here got any pictures to share ?
mas123 - I believe Mike used Classic Mini external door handles on the earlier kits.
I bought a set for my Cordite, that I no longer need, if you are interested.
I also have a pair of very basic door latches.

PJ Grabowski - As far as I know, Mike is the only one who has finished a Speedster kit.
But this is what he does for a living, so it is a full time job for him.
For everyone else, we try to build our kits in whatever "spare" time we have.
I think tlrtone has got the furthest of the "home builders" that post on here.
Not many people have completed a kit in less than a year, although it is possible.
In fairness to Miglia, we are still waiting for the first Sammio Cordite/ Ribble Navigator or G-46 kits to be finished as well.
( Although Micky1mo's G-46 is very close to being finished. )
