Car owner feedback for Cat E1
I thought that this project was going to be just about to put things together but it prooved not to be. I takes quite a lot of effort to build this car. A lot more than I expected. However, I guess that is what building your car should be like. My lovely car is now ready and fully road legal. It is just amazing to drive. I can't wait to build my second Cat!!!

Just about to make the final tests before I will take it out for the first time. I must say that this kit was a bit dissapointed on the overall quality. the chassie, plastic parts and most of the parts included in the not so comprehensive kit were of good quality but some really unnecessary mistakes has been made by Tiger. Some of the parts supplied were totally wrong (brake kit, bolts, fittings etc) which has caused extra costs and time. However, I'm sure I'll be more than happy once I'm out of the garage.

Relatively easy build. Build manual is good for kneeling on or throwing at the garage wall during frustrating moments. Tiger support was good plus help can be gained from various build websites which makes the job easier. Common sense during build makes passing SVA easier, my retest took 15 minutes! Great fun to drive and despite appearances feels very safe on the road and very surefooted. I used all parts from the Sierra to complete and will upgrade engine etc at a later date. Build time is due to 8-10 hours a day in the garage.
Owner Paul Snowball has added that it took 400 hours over 2 months to build at a cost of £4,500.
Very enjoyable build, the kit was available when promised and Tiger Cars were very helpful with any queries during the build. It is great fun to drive, certainly a real head-turner! As you can see from the photos it is a very smart car.
Owner Stuart Newton has added that it took 700 hours over 10 months to build at a cost of £5,500.
currently finishing off the car for the SVA test, but it has been pretty staight forward to build despite a terrible build manual. The kit is excellent value for money although there is 1 or 2 bits that could be improved on with a bit extra care from Tiger.
Owner Digby Rusling has added that it took 250 hours over 8 months to build at a cost of £7,500.
Good budget kit - (you get what you pay for in this world) Not as comprehensive as Tiger like to make out, you will need lots of little "extras" like a propshaft.... These will push the basic costs up significantly. You should budget for all the little additional items like hoses/clips/lots more nuts and bolts/donor refurbishment items like brake components/water pump (the list seems end less)...dont forget tyres and wheels Lots of shortages in the kit - not enough nuts and bolts, trim etc. GRP quality not the best. Ally panels cut very economically, had to replace several. Build manual is sub standard. Dont buy Tigers donor pack - get your own Sierra and strip it. Good support from Tiger. Finished car is excellent for the price, good performance and road holding

Had a spot of bother with the chassis but that was due to a new chassis builder, but once that was sorted out it was smooth sailing. Bugged the hell out of Everyone at the office but they always had the time to talk to me and tell me where I was going wrong. The kit is quite comprehensive but with just enough left in there for you to work out on your own to make it interesting. Overall product is great for the price and the finish is as good as the amout of time you want to spend on it. A great car to drive and hour of fun. The price abouve included 5 alloy wheels, a full toneau, a complete array of dials and a full reconditioned engine with racing cam.
