Car owner feedback for Type 48 Corsa Spyder
A good looking kit in the style of a 1948 Ferrari Spider Corsa. The latest kits are sold under the Fiorano name. Rather than use the Triumph, I built mine on a 1952 Jowett Jupiter chassis, with Jupiter mechanicals. This made for a few challenges, but the resulting Special looks and goes well. The world's first Fiorano Jupiter just now awaits a coat of paint (Ferrari Rosso, of course!).
Owner Geoff McAuley has added that it took 800 hours over 27 months to build at a cost of £4,000.
It was a lot of fun to build and the only problem that we have got was in the cooling of the engine but that was easly sorted. The thing has been described as a passion wagon!
Owner Paul McParland has added that it took 100 hours over 14 months to build at a cost of £3,500.
I found the kit a pleasure to build, with all of the parts supplied well done. The worst part as usual was the wiring. It is great fun to drive and I love the shape and style of the car. There are things I would have done differently if I was starting again, but overall a great wee car.
