Car owner feedback for Leighton
The car came without a manual and was very difficult to build. Nothing fitted, including the bodywork, first time. It took an enormous amount of time to get things right. There were no shortcuts like upholstry or seat kits.BRA provided very little help as they had never built a car. It nows looks very well and is well received at meetings The Leighton drives beautifully and is very precise with no body roll. The steering is very stiff but this will be rectified by changing the kingpin inclination. Hopefully, the new owners of the kit (Leighton Cars) can rectify the build issues as in my opinion it is a much superior car to most 2CV based kits.
Owner Steve Wright has added that it took 1000 hours over 36 months to build at a cost of £4,500.
