Mallory Park is a race track situated in the village of Kirkby Mallory, just off the A47, between Leicester and Hinckley. Only Lydden Hill is a shorter race track in the UK. It has two formations of an oval (1.0000 miles) and a full circuit of 1.3500 miles. There is a lake in the middle on the oval. Despite its short length, Mallory is fast despite having Shaw's hairpin, the tightest corner of any UK track. From then on it's flat-out all the way to Gerard's, the never ending right-hander. Gerard's is the only corner of any real note, it's also the longest corner on the UK circuit scene, one that sees most racers actually accelerating through the bend and changing up a gear half way round. |
