steering rod gaiters
can you help, my sportster is the x terry Dutton, built late 1990's the gaiters on the steering rod have split and I need new ones but unable to find out what they are.

If they are O/E ford ones, have a look at the outer conical ends and there should be a raised part number moulded on. Something like "86BB- etc. Then type that number into Google and you should find what model they were for and a supplier.
CBS also do universal ones but check that the max outside diameter as it may foul chassis parts if too large. Peter.

Not sure if Marlin used more than one type of rack but my 2004 Sportster used a recon rack from a Ford P100.
Have look at the dimensions in this ebay advert and see if they match your existing boots.

The Sportster shares the same basic chassis as the Cabrio which also used the Ford Sierra non power steering rack.
Its a safe bet yours will be the Ford P100.

thank you all, O now know they are sierra p100, have taken my old gaiters off and find they are not a pair, drivers side diam. 55mm length 155,passenger side Diam.35mm length 210mm, any ideas ?

have now changed the gaiters and new ends as well, anyone advise what te steering set up is in case I moved a wheel?
