Default MK3 instruments with Turbo

Hi Guys.

Bought some mk3 instruments and the mileage don't seem to work.

There's no diagram in Rave of how the digital mileage is connected up.

The guy said the dials were working when he tested them.

Does it have to be connected to the later ECU?

Help!

I would reckon that the milage works from the ECU. Not totally sure though. I've got a rover 200 BRM instrument pod which you can have if you want it, yours for the cost of posting it.

Hi Dan.

That would be great Dan if that's ok. Let me know the postage via PM.

I also found I have an old version of Rave without the 25 diagrams in it.

So on the scrounge for a later copy of Rave. Hopefully having how the digital mileage is wired.

Default instruments

The instruments are not connected to ecu, can you find a friend with a rover and plug your dash in to it to test, just a thought.

Hi Brian.

Got nobody I know that has a Rover. The wiring seems straight forward but I was going by the old Rave CD which has the 200 but not 25. I'm assuming the later Rave which has the 25 has the wiring diagram with how the digital mileage is connected up. Dan is kindly going to send my some BRM dials.

I spoke to Simon at Marlin today. Simon seems to remember that the was a wire that needed power for the mileage to display.

These are the pictures of the dials and connectors:

Connector 1 -

Black Earth - Speedo & Illumination
Green/White - Right indicator
Blue/green - Main beam (to Marlin Blue/White)
Green/Red - Left indicator
Black - Another Earth
White-Brown - Oil Pressure
Green - Switch Positive
Brown/Yellow - Alternator
Blue/Yellow - Rear Fog light
Green/Black - Fuel Guage.

Connector 2 -
Green/Blue - Temp Gauge
Green - Switched Positive
Yellow/Pink - Not used Air Bag
Red/Black - illumination to light switch (Marlin Red)
Blue/Red - Not used ABS. This still lights up though not connected!!
light/Green/Yellow - Hazard Switch (Marlin Yellow)
Purple/Red - Not Used Boot Light.
Purple - Positive for Alarm and Hazard Switch
Black/white - Hand Brake & Brake Fluid
Blue/Pink - Negitive for Alarm
White/Black - Rev counter
White/Orange - Speedo drive

Is there somthing else? There is that third connector on the bottom right. But the car I got the connectors from (200 VI) did not have this connector.
But have no diagram on my version of Rave.

Has anybody else got Rave for the 25? If so can you have a look for me and see if it has the wiring for the mileage display.

Cheers
