Default The latest member of my growing tool collection

An Axminster branded Sieg C4 lathe, stand and assorted tooling.

Now all I need to do is build the shed that it will live in!

I'm jealous... You decided against getting one from Chester then? Isn't it the newer SC4 rather than a C4 though? I.e. has the high torque brushless motor and continuously variable spindle speed control?

When does the milling attachment arrive?

Mark.

I didn't decide against the Chester version - It's just that this one appeared on eBay for a price I couldn't refuse (pretty much half price). It also came with the stand which Axminster charge an extra £150 for, and a work light on the chip tray.

The chap who was selling it also threw in 2 mitutoyo outside micrometers, a set of glanze carbide tools, a tapping head, parting off tool and a quick change tool post with a whole bunch of tool holders. Plus a bunch off stuff in a wooden box I've yet to fully investigate, apart from checking all the change gears are there.

For the money, I'm well chuffed with what I've got.

I just need to get a 4 jaw chuck and tail stock drill chuck.

As for the Milling head - I may get a stand alone mill. I keep hearing that Mill / Lathe combos aren't the best of things.

I know a good place for sheds...

My new 4m x 3m workshop cost about 2k in kit form. Made from 45mm timber and double glazed. You could live in it if you wanted to!
