Un-started Royale Sabre kit
There is an un-started Royale Sabre kit just been listed on ebay.
This has nothing to do with me and I have no knowledge of this particular kit or the owner but I do know that my purchase of an unfinished kit did prompt some interest on this forum.
Good luck if you fancy building yourself a high quality classic kit car.

It's a big kit so you really need a double garage (or a couple of lock-ups ) so it is not for the faint hearted!!

I checked with the seller and the reserve is set at £2000 so not bad considering the inclusion of the donor car. But, of course, there are a lot of parts like the Royal suspension parts not included, so not a cheap build.

Yes, it is fascinating that it went for exactly the reserve price. Let's hope the new owner starts a build thread here...

Another in an auction
And now there is a complete car up for auction at Bonhams in March.
http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20925/lot/353/
This could be real bargain with an estimate of only 1500-2000 GB pounds

Yes let's hope so, would be nice to see another Sabre on the road.
And another great find....that would be a bargain if it sold within the estimate, although I very much doubt it will. Needs total restoration by the looks of things.
I have the auction in my calendar now to remind me

Yes, it is already registered, so no IVA testing required, and it does have an engine ( ) but it's in a very, very poor condition.
I wouldn't advise bidding on this car unless you've seen it and appreciate how much work is involved.
But they do have some other glorious cars in the auction if you've got £50,000-60,000 to spare

The BMW 328 is really beautiful and would be my 'Lotttery win' car

I was tempted to go and bid as it looked ok in the pics, got as far as registering but think it will cost too much when you add in the 15% buyers premium + VAT plus transportation costs, plus the actual restoration
Still tempted to go though....

There are many seriously expensive motors for sale so you might find there isn't any other interest in the Sabre. I don't know if it has a reserve?
But if you are tempted be prepared to spend a lot of time and a lot of money on replacement parts.
It could be fun to go and watch the auction and drool over the other cars but I think it will cost you £20 to get in tommorow.

Well, the sabre went for £3450 inc premium according to the website. I figured the estimate was a bit low.
Just missed out on a Merlin kit on ebay, the buyer got a good price, I was prepared to pay a little bit more but I didn't play the game very well
Your BMW 328 re-creation went for a whopping £135,900

Wow, I am surprised at the price of that Sabre went for! But I guess it can be rebuilt without worrying about an IVA test. I wonder if the person who bought it will show up here to show us their rebuild??
Shame about that Merlin un-started kit. It really is amazing how many un-started kits show up!

More of an 'unfinished' rather than un-started kit but for anyone looking for a Royale Sabre project.....there is an unfinished Sabre currently advertised on Complete Kit Car classifieds
http://www.completekitcar.co.uk/classifieds.html
If it really does has a good paint job (as claimed), then it might be a good buy, depending on the build quality and how long it's been in storage, etc.
I have no knowledge of the condition or any connection with the seller.

A very rare unfinished Sabre for sale....

Nothing to do with me but sometimes people express an interest on here.
The Sabre is no longer manufactured so this could be of interest to someone?
