Spotted on the Road a 5Exi !

Driving towards Taunton on Friday afternoon last week (27th Feb) I spotted a bright metalic orange 5Exi driving away from Taunton towards Ilminster. It was smart and well polished, I did not get a sight of the driver I was just surprised to see it there at all!:lock1:

I did not recognise the car from the forum but it was a pleasure to see it on the road.

Sort of stimulated the juices to have my own on the road.

Anyone know who it was?:eusa_think:

Tony G (west Dorset) was building a metallic orange one with a Rover Turbo engine. He was about 1/2 way through his build when I ordered my kit, so there's a fair chance he's finished. Not sure where he went though - he vanished off the radar.

Situations like this, does spur you on whilst building. Make it's seem real again seeing a complete car and not a pile of metal and nuts&bolts.

I know when I did mine, it gave me a kick going for a passenger ride or two.

I have offered this to a couple of builders once mine is finally sorted and can confidently go a bit of disance away from home. Helps moral.

Reckon it was probably me. Just picking the car back up from the factory after a rear end rebuild - latest suspension etc - & being driven veeeerry gently as the had been no shakedown & 250 miles to go. Long story.....

Pictures are around in the gallery 'tho with detail differences. Like it's even lower now & even Fiat Cinquecentos are looking big when you sit beside 'em at traffic lights.

Having seen it at Detling I can confirm it looks good. Was interesting to see one with a similar rear end to mine. Was a good opportunity to see how Mark intended mine to be. Was also interesting to see some of the fetling that I have had to do, Mark had had to do too..

Thanks for letting me have a good look. Have spent the last two evening back out in the garage since and printed out my IVA forms ready.. Now determined this must be the summer mine makes the road !!
